Our coaches come all over! Take a look at how long they have coached and why they love it. You may learn a little something new about them. The one thing they all have in common is the love of the game and sharing it with the next generation. 

Keaton Boehm

Hometown: Bismarck, ND

Soccer experience: I played soccer my entire life, I played at century high school and after graduation played 3 years at the University of Mary.

Coaching experience: I have been coaching approximately 7 years.

Why do you coach?
The reason that I coach is to build relationships, spread the knowledge of the game, improve soccer skills, and help shape a new generation of soccer players.

What soccer team do you support? I support the Tottenham Hotspurs.

Fun Fact: I am currently working on obtaining my doctorate in physical therapy.

Aaron Brennan

Hometown: I'm originally from Northern Ireland, a region in the northeast of the island of Ireland

Soccer experience: I arrived in Bismarck in 2013 on a scholarship to the University of Mary, where I had four successful years representing the University, receiving a couple of accolades for on-field performances. Before my time at the University of Mary, I was fortunate to represent my country at the youth level, whereas recently I have been playing at a semi-professional level back home. 

Coaching experience: Throughout my time here in Bismarck, I have coached at all levels, from the youngest ages in the DUSC academy all the way through to the high school level.

Why do you coach?
I enjoy being involved at the grassroots level and passing on my passion, excitement, and knowledge of the game to the next generation. 

What soccer team do you support? Aston Villa

Fun Fact: I'm the only Aston Villa fan in Bismarck/Mandan. 

Yasmina Dokara 

Hometown:
Fargo, ND
Soccer experience:
Played for 17 years since I was 5. Played for multiple clubs in North Dakota, West Fargo Sheyenne High School, and the University of Mary. 
Coaching experience:
I have been coaching youth soccer for about 4-5 years seasonally.
Why do you coach?
I enjoy working with the youth as they have some spunk and energy that you don't see as you get older in the sport. It is another way for me to give back and stay connected with soccer without just being a player in a program. 
What soccer team do you support?
There is not a team I support, I will just keep up with some. Those being the Women's National Team, and the WPSL. 
Fun Fact:
I am bilingual, I speak Bosnian.

Amanda Edwards

Hometown:
Bismarck, ND
Soccer experience:
I have been playing soccer since childhood and have played at Century High School, Dakota United, and Concordia College.
Coaching experience:
I coached for Parks and Rec when I was younger and now have coached at DUSC for two years. 
Why do you coach?
I coach because I want to inspire in kids the same love for the sport that my coaches instilled in me!
What soccer team do you support?
USWNT and Manchester United
Fun Fact:
I toured FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou stadium this summer in Barcelona! 

Austin Ellingson 

Hometown:
Bismarck, ND
Soccer experience:
I have been playing soccer since I was 5 and played high school ant legacy high school and college and UMary for 2 years.
Coaching experience:
I have been coaching for 5 years between middle school, high school level and Dakota United academy. 
Why do you coach?
I coach because I enjoy seeing the development of plays from beginning to end of the seasons.
What soccer team do you support?
I support the USA national teams.
Fun Fact:
In my free time I enjoy to golf and snowboard.

Lucas Felice

Hometown:
Thunder Bay, Ontario CA
Soccer experience:
2 years at University of Mary in North Dakota, 2 years at Holy Names University in California. 4 years of USL 2 with Thunder Bay Chill.
Coaching experience:
I have been coaching rec teams and competitive teams for the past 10 years, with players between 6 and 19 years old
Why do you coach?
I coach because I love the game and want to share my experience and knowledge with younger players.
What soccer team do you support?
Juventus
Fun Fact:
I met Ivan Rakitic while he was still playing for Barcelona.

Sophia Lange

Hometown:
Big Lake, Minnesota
Soccer experience:
I am currently a sophomore in college and I play for the University of Mary Women’s soccer team as a defender. I have been playing soccer since I was 7 years old.
Coaching experience:
I started volunteer coaching in high school and I got my first true coaching job this summer, working with ages 4-13. I have my USSF ‘Grass Roots’ license.
Why do you coach?
I like to coach because I enjoy sharing my love for soccer, and I think one of the best ways to share soccer is by teaching others how to play.
What soccer team do you support?
I am a supporter of Liverpool FC, the USWNT, Minnesota United, and Minnesota Aurora FC.
Fun Fact:
One fun fact about me is that my favorite animal is the hammerhead shark.

Jacob Lelm

10 years playing club and varsity school soccer
Coaching experience:

Why do you coach?
Because I like soccer and it’s been a big part of my life and I want to stay involved in as many ways as possible.
What soccer team do you support?
Chelsea FC
Fun Fact:
I was team captain for my high school soccer team.

Mo Malone

Hometown:
Placentia, California
Soccer experience:
I have played soccer since I was 4 years old and I played D1 soccer last year at UTEP and I transferred to UMary to continue playing this past summer. 
Coaching experience:
I do not have a coaching license but I have helped coach at my local high school in California and have helped out with younger kids just for fun. 
Why do you coach?
I like to coach because I feel as if I have the drive to pass my knowledge of soccer on to the next generations. I want kids to grow to love soccer as much as I have and I believe this sport brings out the best in people and I like being a part of that journey. 
What soccer team do you support?
For women, I support the USWNT and Angel FC. For men, I support Chelsea.
Fun Fact:
One fun fact is I am indeed from California but I cannot surf.

Ava Murdoff

Hometown:
Bismarck, ND
Soccer experience:
I have been playing soccer since I was 5. Currently I am a senior at Century high school playing soccer.
Coaching experience:
This will be my second year of coaching.
Why do you coach?
I coach because I love seeing the improvement kids make throughout the year, and I love spreading my knowledge of soccer to younger players.
What soccer team do you support?
I support the USA women’s soccer team.
Fun Fact:
I work at a day camp for special needs children during the summer! 

Alexa Quaranta

Hometown:
Naperville, IL 
Soccer experience:
Played for Eclipse DA as well as ODP National, regional, and state team. Played one year at Western Illinois before transferring. Played semi pro with Chicago Dutch lions in 2021. Currently playing for UMary Women’s soccer.
Coaching experience:
I have been coaching since I was 10 years old. I would go with my dad and work with 18 month to 6 year olds. At 14 I started training all ages and genders. I worked with 5 year olds to 14 year olds both male and female. I did one on ones as well as small groups. At 17 I coached a freshman high school boys 3v3 team and a U10 girls team. I also helped with a local club near me training their 13 year old boys. Then at 18 I ran my own futsal camp for high schoolers. I currently have my D license but want to work towards a National A. 
Why do you coach?
I want to coach because I want to inspire kids to be themselves. I believe soccer has been my support system and has let me be creative. I want to encourage kids to be creative and have fun with soccer as well as get better technically. Soccer is a great way to learn who you are as a person and a player while learning how to work with others. I want to be a coach to help kids learn who they are but also learn the game.  
What soccer team do you support?
Juventus hands down! Definitely been struggling the past few seasons with new players coming in and old ones leaving but when Pogba and Chiesa get to 100% again we will get back on top. 
Fun Fact:
My dogs name is Nutmeg after the soccer move and he has his own Juventus jersey.

Isabelle Parson

Hometown:
Ontario, Canada
Soccer experience:
I’ve been playing soccer for 14 years and I currently play for the University of Mary women’s soccer team.
Coaching experience:
I helped coached my minor soccer clubs timbit’s (youth) program for two years.
Why do you coach?
I coach because I love playing soccer so I enjoy passing that passion on to others. I also really like working with younger kids and teaching.
What soccer team do you support?
FC Bayern Munich
Fun Fact:
I enjoy travelling and even once got to play in a soccer tournament in Mexico.

Alex Schon

Hometown: Bismarck, ND
Soccer experience: I've been played soccer since I can remember and it's always been a major part of my life. I Played mostly competitive soccer around the North Dakota area during highschool and played a little bit at NDSU. 
Coaching experience: I've been coaching for 2 years and I'm working to get my class D license. 
Why do you coach?
I coach because I think its a good way to stay connected the game and give others the opportunity to experience the beautiful game of soccer.
What soccer team do you support? When it comes to supporting a team the USMNT is the team I support the most. However, in the Premier League I support Leeds United! 
Fun Fact: A fun fact about me is that I have never attended a concert or a professional mens soccer game.  

Jonny Sellars

Hometown: York, England
Soccer experience:
Represented city and county teams in England before coming to America and playing for the University of Mary (2012 - 2016). After graduation I moved to Shanghai, China and played for the Shanghai Cosmos (2016 - 2018). Moved back to Bismarck to complete my master’s degree and was the graduate assistant coach for the University of Mary men’s program (2018 - 2020). In 2018 I was also hired as the technical director for Dakota United SC and have been in that role since (2018 - present).
Coaching experience: I have been coaching soccer for 14 years and have coached in England, USA, and China. Throughout my years I have worked with players all the way from ages 3 (DUSC) to 24 (University of Mary). I currently hold a US Soccer Federation C license.
Why do you coach?
Soccer has provided me with lifelong skills, friends, opportunities, and enjoyment and coaching allows me to share these experiences and my love for the game. Being able to share my passion for soccer is not only is rewarding for me, but coaching also offers me the exciting challenge of pushing to improve soccer within the community. 
What soccer team do you support? Manchester United
Fun Fact: I ran my first marathon this year (2022)!

Elisabeth Schumacher

Hometown: Bismarck, ND
Soccer experience: Played for about 11ish years, elementary through high school with summer and indoor for off seasons.
Coaching experience: 2 years
Why do you coach? I coach to help others have a better understanding of the skills needed and to make it a fun overall environment.
What soccer team do you support? Nottingham Forest
Fun Fact: I was able to attend a couple games from the women’s World Cup in 2015.

Kaelie Schumacher

Hometown: Bismarck, ND
Soccer experience: I played soccer from elementary school through college at the University of Mary.
Coaching experience: I have my D license and have coached for Dakota United for 9 years, with some recreational coaching previous to that. I have also coached middle and high school. 
Why do you coach? I coach soccer because I love the game and want to help those that are interested in it as well.
What soccer team do you support? I support Manchester United. 
Fun Fact: I love to cook and bake. 

Madisyn Waltman

Hometown: Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Soccer experience: Played college soccer as the goalie for the University of Mary from 2018-2022
Coaching experience: I have been coaching soccer since 2018 working with Magic high school teams with my US Soccer Grassroots license. I have also coached high school girls soccer since spring of 2019 and will be beginning my 5th season at Bismarck High School as the varsity assistant coach this coming spring.
Why do you coach?
I coach because I love the game of soccer, but also because I like being able to spark a love for the game in youth today. Every soccer star has to start somewhere, and I love helping young players find their love for the game!
What soccer team do you support?
Big supporter of the US Women’s National team and the brand new Kansas City Current team in the NWSL. My favorite Premier League team is Manchester United.
Fun Fact: I attended the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France with my college soccer team and got to watch the US National team compete in 2 of their opening round games!
