2024 Season: Training and Competition Opportunities

Please read the attached welcome letter from our new state chair, Rick Puerto, to kick off the 2023-24 wrestling year:

Welcome Letter, 2023 - 2024...

We are looking forward to offering training and competition opportunities to NJ wrestlers, boys and girls in the coming season. In the fall, teams and clubs get together and teach technique to young men and women under the auspices of USA Wrestling's national governing body. All wrestlers who train at USA Wrestling clubs / teams or compete in USA Wrestling events (through USAW New Jersey) are welcome to train and compete in the winter season's Scholastic schedule and in the spring/summer seasons' Olympic-style schedule. The Scholastic season for USAW-NJ (January - March) culminates in a March State Finals tournament for Scholastic / Folkstyle wrestling. The Olympic season (March - August) culminates in the Fargo National Championships in Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling (as seen in the Olympics).
