Smithsburg Youth Football Association

Code OF Conduct

The Board and Coaches of SYFA are all VOLUNTEERS that assist in improving, guiding, and mentoring our youth athletes.  The below conduct statements are to ensure the safety of the participants while safeguarding the longevity of Smithsburg Youth Football Association to provide services to our community.

As a parent of an SYFA participant(s), I am accepting the following:

❏ I will participate in fundraising and other events that support the organization.

❏ I will fulfill my volunteer duties. I am required to fill 2 (two) volunteer positions per registered participant in my family during SYFA “home” games.

❏ I must abide by all SYFA and KYFCL rules, procedures & policies, by-laws, and guidelines.

❏ Tobacco, vape products, drugs, and alcohol products are not permitted at any SYFA function.

❏ I understand that ONLY approved officials, coaches, and players are permitted on the field. NO parents, spectator, etc... are permitted on the practice/playing field, in the Press Box, or any area designated for players/coaches without an organization-issued badge. This is a violation of KYFCL rules and safety which can result in a penalty to the organization.

❏ I understand that my child is part of a team and is expected to participate in all practices and games until the season is over, this may include playoff and championship games. If my child cannot be at a function I am to give the Head Coach ADVANCED notice.

❏ I understand absences from practice and/or games will impact my child’s playing time or participation at an SYFA event.

❏ If I have any concerns with the coaching staff, I will address said issues by sending an email to smithsburgyouthfootballassociation@gmail.com

❏ I will properly conduct myself. I will treat the coaches, officials, and SYFA Board Members with respect. I also understand that I am responsible for the behavior of family, friends, and guests who attend SYFA events with me or to watch my child.

❏ I understand that any unsportsmanlike or inappropriate behavior, whether verbal or electronic, that reflects poorly on any child, the SYFA program, board, coaches, or volunteers will result in myself or my guests' immediate removal from the field, practice setting, or event until the executive board has met with the Grievance Committee and

said parent to determine the length of removal from SYFA events, if necessary. This

includes any unnecessary or disrespectful behavior on social media from any member

of MY FAMILY.
