There is a new Referee abuse policy Starting March 1st 2025 


Key takeaways from the policy update include:

  • Both Physical and Non-Physical Abuse Have No Place In Our Game.
  • Suspensions will be for a number of games or time-based (or sometimes both) depending on severity and circumstance.
  • Players, coaches and spectators are all encouraged to report abuse.

Game reports are important in order to get paid and show you were at the game. Game reports should include the score, and any concerns about the game, example if coaches or parents were being unsporting or yelling at the referee.


What to do if you have to give a card.


UNSPORTING (Yellow card)

In the ______minute, #____ FIRST AND LAST NAME of TEAM NAME recklessly ­­­­__________(tripped, tackled, kicked, charged, pushed) an opponent while challenging for the ball. I stopped play for the foul and cautioned #____ for unsporting behavior, showing him or her the yellow card. Play was restarted with a direct kick for the opposing team.


SERIOUS FOUL PLAY (Red card)

n the ­­­­­_______ minute, #_____ FIRST AND LAST NAMEof TEAM NAME was sent off for serious foul play. #_____ slid from the side into an opponents shin with excessive force, making contact with both of his cleats, and his legs straightened. #____’s tackle endangered the safety of his opponent. #_____ was shown the red card for serious foul play. #_____ left the field without further incident. Play was then restarted with a direct free kick for the opponents.
