PHASE 1: Creating A Fun Soccer Experience

At Indiana United FC, we believe that the primary aim of this important development stage, is to cultivate physical literacy and fundamental skills in children through participation in football.

Without skills such as speed, agility, balance, coordination, and the ability to run, jump, throw, kick, catch, and control their body (sensory awareness), children will not only be lacking as football players but will also lack the confidence or competence to participate in many sports.

These skills will be imparted through programs centered around game-based and FUN (Foundation, Understanding, Nurturing) activities, ensuring 100% involvement at all times. Small-sided games will provide opportunities for children to express enjoyment and develop skills through play.

DEVELOPMENT GOALS FOR OUR PLAYERS AT THIS STAGE

We want to develop good people and talented players. The goals for this age category are to have players who can;

• Be confident and creative when they step onto the field and play
• Be committed to training and games, across all areas
• Be self-motivated and focused when put in decision making situations
• Be better educated off the field and perform well at school
• Be less likely to lose the enjoyment of the game through burn-out and progress to the next level

ROLE OF THE COACH
- Provide fun, enjoyable activities during the session
