2024 OFBA Parent Code of Conduct
Please remember when watching your kids play, it’s only a game it is supposed to be fun!
1. Treat all participants with respect by always demonstrating appropriate and mature adult behavior. Parents will not use abusive language or actions and will never yell at or criticize an umpire, opposing coach, player or parent.
2. Under no circumstance will a parent yell at an ump. As a parent it is not your job to have any interaction with an umpire. That is what your coaches are for.
3. Parents will remain away from the dugouts at all times, unless they have been asked to be there by a coach.
4. Parents will refrain from drinking at any tournament or facility that it is not allowed. If alcohol is allowed, parents will do so in a responsible manner.
5. Parents who have any issues with a coach or team will wait 24 hours before addressing it with the coach. After 24 hours they will call the coach directly to address any concerns.
6. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES will a parent demean or degrade a coach or player from their own team or an opposing team.
7. Parents will cheer for their own team
8. Parents will never cheer against an opposing team. (These are all kids trying their best, please remember that.)
9. Parents should refrain from trying to coach their kids from the sidelines. It is important to let the coaches coach.
10. Most importantly, please remember this is youth baseball! It is supposed to be fun! No matter the outcome of any game, the kids will forget about it the next day. It is on you as a parent to make sure it stays that way, fun. It is just a game, nothing more.
