Registration

SPRING 2025 REGISTRATION IS OPEN!

Welcome!
We are so excited for Spring 2025 Baseball that we decided to open registration earlier this year!

To register, you must:

1) first create a login and add player(s) to your account (that should prompt you to register for programs available based on baseball age)
2) register your player(s) for the appropriate division(s) for Spring 2025 program
3) remember to add the 2nd parent, if any, as additional account holder so that you both receive messages (and makes it much easier to sign up as volunteer)

Registration Requirements
ONE TIME ONLY: With this new platform, all players registering must provide proof of age (birth certificate or passport) and residency within Belmont or Redwood Shores or school attendance within Belmont or Redwood Shores before their registration will be confirmed.  Those who played previous season(s) for BRSLL will be granted waivers again to continue to play with BRSLL!

Adult Volunteers
BRSLL is a non-profit, 100% volunteer-run organization. In order to deliver an outstanding youth baseball program to the youth of our community, we ask EVERY family to participate however you can. We provide training as needed for coaches, scorekeepers, umpires, safety officer, and field prep crew. If you are unable to volunteer your time, there is a $150 volunteer opt-out fee PER PLAYER. However, please consider volunteering to ensure the best possible experience for our players.

Considerations for deciding whether to play up or down
As part of the registration process, you will be asked to specify a division preference consistent with the age requirements and rules listed above. The decision of whether to choose a higher or lower division for your child's age group can be a difficult one, so we offer here a few things to consider.
  • Players who play in a more age-appropriate division generally receive more playing time and have opportunities to play and develop in more skill positions than they would in the higher division.
  • Players who play up may benefit from facing stronger competition and from practicing with older, more skilled players. However, they are likely to receive less playing time than if they played at their age level. They will also have a different social experience as they will likely be one to two years younger than most of their teammates.
  • Opportunities to play in the upper divisions (Juniors, Majors, AAA, AA) are ultimately determined by tryouts and player draft. Players not drafted in their preferred division will be placed in the next lower division. If the league/player agent believes the player would be out of place in the selected division, the agent will contact the parents to discuss moving the player to the age-appropriate division.
  • Ultimately, player placement in the upper divisions (AA, AAA, Majors, and Juniors) will depend on tryouts, player agent assessment of baseball skills, and the number of spaces available in each division. Therefore, your child is not guaranteed placement in the division for which you register.
  • If you have further questions about player placement, email us at [email protected]

Baseball Evaluations (aka "Tryouts")
Evaluations are required for our Juniors, Majors, AAA and AA divisions, even for returning players. Players can indicate their preferred division as part of the registration process, but final division assignments will depend on evaluation performance. If you register for the Juniors, Majors, or AAA division, information on evaluations will be sent to you by email in early December, and for AA, early January. Players must attend evaluations.

Residence and School Attendance Requirements
Players must live or attend a school physically located within BRSLL's territorial boundaries in order to participate in our league. Our territory includes Belmont, Redwood Shores, a small portion of northwest San Carlos (Crestview/Club) and the San Mateo neighborhood bordering Belmont south of Laurie Meadows Park. To determine if BRSLL is the correct league for your child, please visit Little League's website and enter your home or school address in league finder.
Note: Starting in 2025, all players baseball aged 4-7 may register for league of choice without meeting residency or school attendance requirement.

Team Assignment Policy
Upper level teams (Juniors, Majors, AAA, AA) are selected via a draft process based on evaluation results. Lower division teams (T-Ball and A) are randomly assigned, although we try to ensure that players have teammates from the same school and grade. Coach and/or teammate requests for T-Ball and A can be made as part of the registration process, however these requests cannot be guaranteed. An exception will be made for children of team coaches (who will be assigned to their parents' team), and for siblings in the same division (who will be assigned to the same team).

Closed Divisions
BRSLL tries to make room for all interested players, however we are sometimes faced with having to close divisions as they fill up. We encourage you to register as early as possible in order to secure a place in our league. If the division you are interested in joining is closed, you will be added to our wait list.

The Belmont Redwood Shores Little League Board of Directors thank you for your support.
