1. What equipment do parents need to provide for their child?

  • Helmet: A properly fitted football helmet that meets safety standards. White shell with a navy face mask.
  • Shoulder Pads: Correctly sized shoulder pads appropriate for the player’s position.
  • Cleats: Football cleats that provide adequate traction.
  • Mouth-guard: A mouth-guard must be worn at all times during practice and games.
  • Practice Uniform: Practice jersey and pants. Game uniforms are provided by the team and included in the registration fee.
  • Protective Cup: Recommended for all players.
  • Water Bottle: To ensure your child stays hydrated during practices and games.


2. How long is the season in the Rocky Mountain Pop Warner league?

  • The season typically begins with practices starting in August and games running from early September through November. Exact dates can vary each year, so please check our calendar for this season's schedule.


3. What are the age and weight requirements for each division?

  • Nighthawk Elite Youth Football follows the Rocky Mountain Pop Warner age and weight classification. Specific details for each age group (11U, 12U, 13U) can be found on our website under the “Registration Info” section.


4. How often are practices and games?

  • During the season, teams generally practice two times per week, with games on Saturdays. The schedule may adjust slightly during school holidays or for playoff and championship games.


5. What are the academic requirements to participate?

  • Consistent with Pop Warner’s national standards, players must maintain a 2.0 GPA or equivalent. If a player falls below this standard, a Scholastic Eligibility Form must be completed to determine participation eligibility.


6. Are there opportunities for parents to volunteer?

  • Yes! We highly encourage parental involvement. There are many volunteer roles available, including team parent, assistant coaching, event organizing, and more. Volunteering is a great way to support the kids and the program.


7. How does the team communicate with parents?

  • Communication is primarily done through this website, where you can receive updates, practice schedules, and game changes. We also send out emails for important announcements.


8. What is the policy on travel for games?

  • All currently scheduled games are local (within a couple hours of the Denver metro). However, a team may qualify and choose to participate in Pop Warner tournaments that would require travel. Those details would be discussed and disclosed prior to any required travel.


9. What are the expectations regarding sportsmanship?

  • We expect all players, coaches, and parents to display good sportsmanship. Respect for coaches, referees, opponents, and each other is mandatory at all times for continued participation with NEYF.


10. How can I register my child and what are the fees?

  • Registration can be completed online through our website starting the week of May 27. The registration fees cover uniforms, league fees, equipment maintenance, and other operational costs. Specific fee details and payment plans are available on the registration page.
