Torrington PAL Citywide Basketball

Our Citywide Basketball Program welcomes athletes of all talent levels in grades 4 - 8! This program is designed to provide all youth athletes, regardless of experience or skill level, the opportunity to learn, grow, and compete in a team basketball setting. Our program emphasizes fundamental skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence building, ensuring every participant has a positive and rewarding experience.

*Please note that due to conflicting schedules, travel athletes are not permitted to play in the Citywide program*

Athletes should arrive a few minutes early, bring water, and wear proper athletic attire with sneakers suitable for indoor basketball. These evaluations are a great way to prepare for the season and ensure each player is placed on a team that matches their skill level.

PAL K-3 Basketball Skills & Drills 2025

Torrington PAL K-3 Skills & Drills Basketball Program:

Our K-3 Basketball Program is the perfect introduction for young athletes to the exciting world of basketball! Designed specifically for beginners, this program combines fun activities, fundamental skill-building drills, and age-appropriate games to help children develop confidence, coordination, and a love for the game.

Program Details:

Location: Torringford School, 800 Charles Street, Torrington, CT 06790

Schedule:

Program Length: 10 weeks (First session: December 6th, Last session: February 21st)
Kindergarten: 8:15 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
1st Grade: 9:15 a.m. – 10:15 a.m.
2nd Grade: 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
3rd Grade: 11:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.

Each week, children will have the opportunity to practice their skills, participate in friendly games, and build confidence in a supportive environment. This program is designed not only to teach basketball fundamentals but also to foster a love for physical activity, teamwork, and healthy competition.
