Wondering how to earn your volunteer fee back this season?! REC has plenty of opportunities that we need your help with and in return you receive the check/cash back that was given during registration for fulfilling your requirement. One of the volunteer opportunities will be to work a table at an event. Once you have read through the options, picked your choice of opportunity, and attended the selected volunteer choice to help, we will mark you down and return your fee. If there are any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!
Your support and volunteering is much appreciated as it takes many hands to run a smooth season.
-REC paints PawPrints around the community for those who purchase them! Once purchased we will need volunteers to go out and help fulfill the orders and paint prints at specified locations. We will have different groups that go out to paint so be on the lookout for the dates and times that painting will happen.
-We need help setting up the night before matches/tournaments to lay out mats, set up tables, get the concessions organized if necessary, and make sure everything is ready for the big event. There is and will be a separate form available to sign up for shifts/stations where you think you’d be most interested in helping during the event. There are about 32 table positions that will need to be filled and tutorials will be held during practices leading up to the events. (Mandatory Table Shift to earn back volunteer fee)
-Joining our REC board and coaching staff to help run all things behind the scenes of the organization with us! There are a handful of positions available right now and we can’t wait to get to know you as we all work together for the team. We currently as of the end of the 2023-24 season need a President (Bill DeJoseph and Jessica McQuiston will educate and help transition into the role) and another Parent Representative. Those who serve on the board or become a coach for the team DO NOT pay the volunteer fee, it is waved for all members.
-At the end of every season there is a final tournament that requires all teams attending to work tables and scoring for the event. It’s required that REC send 3-4 volunteers per session, totaling 8 people.
-The high school wrestling team will be hosting a match around the holidays that they would like help with. There is a need for volunteers due to having a smaller team and not having as many parents to help run their event. This is a great way to see how the high school team is run and meet Coach John if your child is graduating from REC within the next few years.
There will be fundraisers that will be held throughout the season and information will be posted to the TeamApp for parents and wrestlers to be a part of and earn your second requirement.
There are lots of moving parts behind the scenes and if you aren't interested in joining the board, there are also smaller season based opportunities to help. We can always use the help with collecting spirit wear and distributing the orders once they arrive, leading fundraisers, helping plan for matches/tournaments, etc. If interested, reach out to a board member and we would gladly give you information on how to help!
We need help decorating the parade float that we will be driving in the upcoming Halloween parade. It’s a great opportunity to meet other parents and also to check off one of the requirements to earn your volunteer fee back.
