Volunteering Duties
Coaching is reserved for adults who desire to make a positive impact on children. If interested contact Ben Frerichs. To learn more and to decide if coaching is right for you. Please review the role as defined by Little League International.
Umpiring is a critical role during each game. At least two volunteers are required for most games to operate as “Plate” or “Field” Umpires. In some cases, games may not be played without the support of volunteer umpires. The league supplies appropriate umpire gear, but volunteers are welcome to use their own.
Majors/Minor games we need parents to do pitch count, announcing and scoreboard operator.
The Board of Directors evolves each year but is composed of several designated officers and additional volunteers. At a minimum being part of the Board requires 2-3 hours of time monthly for meetings. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Board, please contact the League President.
Team Parents, often referred to as “Team Mom” or “Team Dad”, are vital to the team’s activities. This role varies by team, but traditionally responsibilities include coordinating parent volunteer duties such as game day field preparations, umpire rotations, and concessions shifts. For younger divisions the team parent may also coordinate post-game snacks or other activities.
Field Preparation before/after practice and before/after games is a great way to volunteer and be part of the experience. While Bandit Ball does have a field & grounds person this task often falls to Managers and Coaches without parent and fan support. You can volunteer to rake, water, run chalk lines/batters’ boxes, sweep dugouts/common areas, etc. Just grab some tools out of our equipment shed and lend a hand! So, your coaches can worry about coaching their teams!
Concessions stand is usually a 3-hour shift schedule on opposite days of your kids’ games. We do have 2 wonderful volunteers that run our concessions, but we still need your help!
Volunteering is required unless you want the league to cash your $150 check. We require T-ball and coach pitch parents to do 5 hrs. of volunteering. Minor parents do 10 hrs. of volunteering.
Clean up days DO NOT count for volunteer hours!
