Set Apart. Built in Truth. Called to Excel.
At FCA Volleyball Club, we are committed to providing a space where faith and competition intersect, where athletes are not only trained in the sport but also equipped for life. We are proudly aligned with the mission of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes: “To lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.”While rooted in FCA’s national mission, our club is uniquely guided by a core philosophy that reflects our distinct culture and calling:
Set Apart
We believe every athlete is set apart by God — uniquely chosen to reflect His goodness in a world that needs truth and light. “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9–10
We also believe we’re set apart as a club. Unlike many programs focused solely on wins and rankings, our purpose is deeper: we’re building up young women who are transformed by Christ — on and off the court. “Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 12:2
To be “set apart” means we operate by a new standard in faith and competition — and we challenge our athletes to do the same.
Built in Truth
Christ is our foundation — in how we lead, how we teach, and how we live. Our coaches are not just skilled in volleyball; they are committed to helping young athletes build their identity on eternal truth rather than performance or perfection. “For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love, He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ…” Ephesians 1:4–5
Because of this truth, our athletes are free to play without fear — their identity isn’t in their stats or performance, but in Christ alone. We help them live out their faith boldly and authentically, both in their sport and their lives. “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:32
Called to Excel
We believe excellence is a calling — not just on the court, but in every aspect of life. We teach athletes to pursue excellence in school, in their families, in friendships, and in how they treat others. This kind of excellence reflects the character of Christ and flows from a life guided by the Holy Spirit. “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” Galatians 5:22–23
“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.” 2 Peter 1:3
This is our standard — not perfection, but purposeful pursuit of Christ in all things. We are coaching the whole athlete — heart, soul, mind, and strength — to live with integrity, serve with humility, and compete with excellence.
