Somerville Babe Ruth

Babe Ruth

Dates: April through mid June * All Start dates are dependent on field readiness.

Events: 2-3 games and/or practices per week

Skill Levels: Intermediate and Advanced

Description: Intended for players that have graduated from Little League and up to age 15. New players are welcome.

Please note that final assignment of players to each level in Little League and Babe Ruth is set by the Board of Directors.

Spring 2026 Little League

Tee Ball

Dates: April through early June

Skill Level: Beginner

Events: Approximately 8 Saturday afternoon clinics

Description: An introduction to baseball making it ideal for younger kids with no experience. Clinics will include stations focusing on different skills.

Little League

Dates: April through mid June * All Start dates are dependent on field readiness.

Skill Levels: Beginner to Advanced (Evaluations will be held in March)

There are three divisions in Little League :

Farm
Games/Practices: 2 per week
Description: A bridge for children transitioning to a more comfortable level of baseball play. Hitting involves facing either a coach or an automated pitching machine.

Minors
Games/Practices: 3 per week
Description: Primarily a kid-pitch league with some coach pitch. Incorporates limited stealing and aims to prepare players for future play in the Majors Division.

Majors
Games/Practices: 3 per week
Description: The most advanced division with player-only pitching and full baseball rules.

Please note that final assignment of players to each level in Little League is set by the Board of Directors.
