- · Is this the only Little League Baseball program in Ringwood?
§ Yes! We are the same Little League Baseball program we have always been, just with new procedures and a new Board of Directors! We own the only Little League charter in Ringwood so if your child wants to play Little League this is your place.
- · Where do I sign up my child? on Community Pass like in years before?
- No! Little League has changed the rules and they now require us to register all participants through Sports Connect! You register your child on this website under the Registration tab! Registration will be open in January 2025.
- Is this the same “rec” season as in year’s past?
- Yes and no. Yes, the makeup of the season will be similar if not the exact same as in year’s past. Any eligible child can sign up and play baseball!
- We also encourage parents to sign up as volunteers and get involved.
- We are planning Opening Day ceremonies and All-Star games.
- We also will be entering our best players into the Little League World Series, which starts with the District Tournament at the end of our regular season!
- The only differences are how you register and some improvements to the program along the way!
- Is my child required to play “rec” in order to play on the All-Star District Tournament Team?
- Yes, all participants in the Little League World Series Tournament must play in the regular season and participate in a minimum number of games. The Tournament is truly an amazing experience for all those involved!
- I don’t have any coaching experience - can I still help coach my kid’s team?
- Absolutely – in fact, we encourage it! Coach Brian has teamed up with his old friend and Varsity Baseball Head Coach Ron Etzkorn to put together a program that will answer many of the questions that new coach’s have. In fact, they are hosting a Coach’s Clinic in person at Lakeland sometime this spring to give every coach in the program a knowledge base to ensure our kids have a meaningful baseball experience.
- My child already plays travel/club ball, why play “rec”?
- Great question – “Rec” ball is a great way to develop your skills regardless of how competitive your travel team may be. More experienced plays often have fun playing with their classmates, taking leadership roles, and trying new positions. Developmental players learn from their more experienced peers as well. Plus, if you want to play in the “Tournament” you must play in the regular season!
