Dear HHHLL Parents & Coaches,
We are excited about the Spring 2025 Half Hollow Hills Little League Season. As we continue to prepare for the upcoming season, we wanted to provide new and updated information and answer commonly ask
ed questions. More detailed information will follow as we approach Opening Day.
Team Formation
For players aged 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, parents can request coaches and/or friends for their child to play with.
We will do our best to honor all your requests and form teams based on your child's school.
In the Farms (9), Minors 10 (10), Minors 11 (11), and Majors (12/13) Divisions, we will create teams as follows…
● All Players MUST attend the Player Evaluations Sessions by Division
● All Head Coaches/Managers will have their children on their team.
● All other players will be divided up evenly and spread out over teams in their division based on the Evaluation Scores.
● Assistant coaches will need to go where their child is placed and cannot be attached to a Head Coach/Manager
● If parents or Assistant Coaches want to request a Head Coach/Manager or players your child would like to be with, we will try to accommodate them based on the Evaluation Scores.
● All players will be evaluated on a scale of twenty points broken into four categories.
Hitting (5), Fielding (5), Throwing (5), Running (5)
● Players who are Pitchers (5) & Catchers (5) will be evaluated in those categories.
Team Formation Plan (Example)
Pitchers & Catchers will be placed first.
Farms - 6 teams
Pitchers (30)
Each team will get five pitchers.
Pitchers will be placed by score on each team.
If there are 6 Pitchers rated a five, each team will get one pitcher.
Next, we will place catchers.
Catcher (12)
Each team would get two catchers based on score.
Then, we will add the total evaluation scores for all the pitchers and catchers currently on each team and divide them by the number of players to ensure a balanced team. Next, we will place all the remaining players based on their evaluation scores to keep the teams balanced.
While following all these steps, we will honor as many requests as possible.
2025 Little League Age – 8+
All Players MUST play in their age group based on their 2025 Little League Age. No players will be allowed to move up to a higher division. This includes all Little League and Williamsport Teams. When you register for Little League, the website will only allow you to register your child for the division based on their Little League Age. That is the Division they MUST play in.
Coaches Meetings
The HHHLL Managers/Coaches Meeting will be held on Saturday, March 29th. More details will follow later.
Player Evaluations
All Players MUST attend the Little League Players Evaluations. The evaluations will take place at 88 Stitches Indoor Facility (74 N. Industry Dr., Deer Park) by division on March 15th as follows…
Softball - 7:00pm-8:00pm
Farms - 3:00pm-4:00pm
Minors 10 - 4:00pm-5:00pm
Minors 11 - 5:00pm-6:00pm
Majors - 6:00pm-7:00pm
OPENING DAY
The HHHLL Opening Day will be Saturday, April 5th.
Team Roster Release
There will be a Team Roster Release meeting with all Managers in the week of March 23rd. We will review how the teams were formed and finalize any changes to the rosters that are necessary before releasing the rosters.
Williamsport Tryouts
Tryouts for our 10U, 11U and 12U Williamsport teams will take place May 9, 10 & 11th. Players MUST attend a Williamsport tryout to be considered for any of our Williamsport. IN addition, all players MUST participate in eight of the scheduled Little League games to qualify. The HHHLL charter allows us to have two teams in each age group. Therefore, we will be looking to select no more than twenty-four players in each age group to represent our Little League when we form our teams. Players MUST try out and play within their age group based on their Little League Age. Advanced younger players, (8/9-year-olds) can try out for the 10U team.
FREE Clinics
We will be providing FREE Baseball & Softball Clinics for all ages on Sundays throughout the Spring Little League Season.
