Junior Umpire & Junior Worker Information
Junior Umpire Program
Woodcreek Little League’s Junior Umpire Program provides teens with an opportunity to learn the rules of baseball,
develop leadership skills, and contribute to our league in an important and meaningful way. This program follows the
guidance and philosophy outlined by Little League International: building confidence, communication skills, and
responsibility through supervised on-field experience.
- 🧢 Who it’s for: Teens interested in learning to umpire while gaining valuable leadership experience in a supportive environment.
- 📘 Training: Junior Umpires receive instruction on rules, mechanics, positioning, and game management. Training is conducted by experienced umpires.
- 🤝 Mentorship: When possible, Junior Umpires are paired with experienced adult umpires or more advanced Junior Umpires who can offer guidance and support, helping newer umpires grow in confidence each game.
- 🧍 Expectations: Arrive early, dress appropriately, demonstrate professionalism, and maintain a calm, positive presence on the field.
- 📅 Game Assignments: Assignments are based on age, experience, performance, and availability. Communication will be sent through email and/or text.
Junior Umpires play a key role in promoting sportsmanship, fairness, and a safe playing environment—values central to the Little League mission.
Junior Worker Program (Snack Bar)
The Junior Worker Program allows teens to contribute to the league by assisting in our Snack Bar. This program helps
participants build teamwork, responsibility, and customer service skills in a fast-paced environment that directly
supports our league’s operations.

- 🍔 Primary Responsibilities: Taking orders, preparing and serving food and drinks, restocking items, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with opening and closing procedures.
- 🛡️ Training & Safety: Junior Workers receive guidance on basic food handling, workstation safety, task expectations, and appropriate conduct.
