2025 Volleyball Camp at SUNY Cortland (NY)

$550 per player per session.
Volleyball summer camp at SUNY Cortland is designed for experienced athletes and beginners alike from 7th-12th grade. We will teach and practice all the skills of volleyball; serving, passing, setting, attacking, blocking, and defense. All skills will be taught and reviewed from a basic foundation up to a level that challenges each athlete. Athletes will work individually and be split onto courts of around 15 athletes to play on teams from 2-6 players in a variety of game situations. Information sessions about recruiting and the life of college athletes are also presented. The coach to camper ratio on each court is at minimum 2 to 15.

Open to all players entering grades 7-12 in the fall of 2025.
$550 per player per session.
Players will receive a $100 discount if they register for BOTH sessions.

Location:
Located on the SUNY Cortland Campus.
All meals (breakfast/lunch/dinner) will be provided in the campus dining hall.
A certified Athletic Trainer will be on site for the duration of camp.
Housing will be on campus in the college dorms. Players may request a roommate, but please keep in mind the rooms are only double occupancy, for a maximum of 2 players per room.

Staff
Director - Tim Smith
The camp director is Tim Smith, the varsity volleyball coach at Calvert High school in Prince Frederick, MD. Tim started coaching at SUNY Cortland as an assistant coach for their women’s volleyball team. For three years the Red Dragons were SUNYAC Conference champions and they competed in the NCAA tournament.
Coach Smith moved to MD to teach Physical Education and Health and currently teaches at Central Middle School. He just completed his 16th season as the head varsity coach of the Calvert Cavaliers volleyball team. Coach Smith led the Cavaliers to the Maryland State finals in 2012 and 2023, the state semi-finals in 2011, 2016, and 2024. In 16 years, his teams have won the region 7 times, including the last four seasons. Also in 2012 and 2017, Coach Smith was named the Southern Maryland Athletic Conference Coach of the Year.
In 2013 Coach Smith worked as an Assistant Coach to Larry Bock with the United States Naval Academy women’s volleyball team.
He has worked summer volleyball camps at SUNY Cortland and the Naval Academy.
Coach Smith was the Director of Coaches and also coached with the Southern Maryland Junior's volleyball club from 2009-2015.
Smith earned a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education May of 2006 and a Master's degree in Health Education May of 2008, both from SUNY Cortland where he played on the Men's Club volleyball team and was the team President 2005-2006 and Vice President 2004-2005.
Smith and his wife, Lindsey, reside with their daughters, MacKenzie and Skylar, in Edgewater, MD.
Assistant Director - Erin Glickert
Erin Glickert enters her sixth year as Cortland's women's volleyball head coach in 2024. In her four seasons on the court (the 2020 season was canceled), Glickert has a combined record of 99-25 (.798) and has led the Red Dragons to three SUNYAC tournament and regular-season titles and three NCAA Division III tournament appearances.
Glickert was named SUNYAC Coach of the Year in 2021, 2022 and 2023 and was the 2021 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Region 3 Coach of the Year.
In 2021, Glickert led the Red Dragons to a 27-4 record, the SUNYAC regular-season and tournament titles, and the second round of the NCAA tournament to tie for 17th place nationally. Her players earned two honorable mention All-America honors, four all-region awards and five All-SUNYAC honors, including both the Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.
In 2022, Glickert's squad finished 22-6 and repeated as SUNYAC tournament and regular-season champs. The Red Dragons again advanced to the NCAA second round to tied for 17th nationally. She coached two All-Americans, three all-region selections and five All-SUNYAC selections, including the league's Player and Rookie of the Year.
In 2023, Cortland finished 26-4 under Glickert and for the third straight year won SUNYAC regular-season and tournament titles and advanced to the NCAA second round to tie for 17th nationally. Cortland earned three All-America and all-region honors and six All-SUNYAC awards, including the Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year.
In her debut season in 2019, Glickert led the Red Dragons to a 24-11 record and the SUNYAC tournament semifinals. Her players earned two All-SUNYAC honors, including the conference Rookie of the Year award, and one AVCA all-region honor. The Red Dragons also earned an AVCA Team Academic Award, which goes to programs that maintain at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average.
Glickert (formerly Erin Little) previously served six seasons from 2013-18 on the coaching staff at Division I Syracuse University, including three seasons as the Orange's associate head coach. In 2018, she helped Syracuse finish 19-9, including a 14-4 mark in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play. The Orange qualified for the NCAA tournament for the first time in school history and advanced to the second round with a win over Yale before losing to nationally ranked Penn State. In 2017, the Orange posted a 22-14 overall mark (12-8 ACC) and advanced to the quarterfinals of the National Invitational Volleyball Championship with a 2-1 record. Syracuse also finished 23-8 (14-6 ACC) during the 2015 season.
Glickert was a four-year player at Syracuse from 2008-11 when the team compiled an overall record of 80-47, including a pair of 20-win seasons and three trips to the BIG EAST Tournament. She was recognized on the BIG EAST All-Academic Team five times and earned a spot on the Syracuse Athletic Director’s Honor Roll on nine occasions.
Since 2011, Glickert has worked as a coach for the IREVA Regional USA High Performance program, assisting the program director with one-day annual tryouts and providing athlete evaluations and high-level skill instruction for summer training camps. She was the head coach for the select youth team at the 2016 High Performance Championships. Glickert has also worked at numerous regional and national camps and clinics as a coach and presenter.
Glickert also played in the IREVA High Performance Program, and as a high school player at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School she won two New York State titles and reached the state finals on two other occasions. The Glenville, N.Y., native was named the 2008 Gatorade New York State Player of the Year following her senior year.
Glickert earned a bachelor’s degree in advertising from Syracuse in the spring of 2012. She then traveled overseas to play professionally in Finland with the club Orpo. Glickert starred as an outside hitter and helped her team win the Finnish bronze medal. She earned a Masters of Business Administration from Syracuse’s Whitman School of Management in May 2019.
Glickert and her husband, Cody, reside with their daughter, Azalea, and son, Asa, in Tully.
