State of Colorado Safe at Sports (Safer Youth Sports Act)- Background Checks Required for Coaches

Safe at Sports went into effect on July 1, 2025. In order for Sargent Youth Sports to maintain compliance with this new law, we are requiring background checks for all coaching positions.

SYS is using a company called JDP. If you would like to coach, please still sign up through our portal under "Volunteer Opportunities". Once you've submitted your inquiry to coach, a member of SYS will get with you individually to complete the background screening. SYS will pay for this service, so there will be no cost to anyone wanting to coach.
