Tee Ball FAQs
What is the focus of the Tee Ball League?
FUN, FUN, and more FUN! Tee Ball is the perfect introduction to baseball and softball for your child. At this age, our top priority is ensuring every player has a safe and enjoyable experience. Our goal is to bring kids and families together for a great time while teaching the very basics of the game.
What should my child wear to Tee Ball?
For practices, your child may wear any comfortable, athletic clothing. For games, we ask that players wear their team uniform. The league will provide a uniform shirt and hat. Your coach will let you know which color of baseball pants, socks, and belt to purchase. For safety, all batters, base runners, and players on deck MUST wear helmets.
What equipment does my child need for Tee Ball?
Each player is responsible for bringing their own helmet with an attached face guard (full cage) to every practice and game. The league has a very limited supply of helmets and bats available for team managers to borrow; sizes are not guaranteed. Players will also need a glove, a water bottle, and cleats (recommended for better traction on wet grass or mud). Many families also choose to provide their own tee ball bat, but this is optional.
Can I request my child be placed with a friend or specific team?
We do our best to accommodate friend and team placement requests whenever possible. Teams are typically formed based on age, school, or family requests.
How big are the teams?
For Tee Ball and Single-A baseball, we typically try to form teams of 6-7 players. Because children at this age rarely hit the ball into the outfield, this maximizes engagement on the field and keeps games and practices moving.
I’m interested in managing or coaching my child’s team. How do I volunteer?
If you’d like to volunteer as a Head Coach or Assistant Coach, please indicate this during registration so we can begin the required background check. If you decide to volunteer after registering, email [email protected]. Please note: All parent volunteers must complete a Little League International (LLI) background check. Team Managers and Coaches are also required to attend the pre-season Coaches Meeting.
