A Few Notes on Age Ranges and Divisions
We use calendar-year birth dates (January 1 - December 31) to group players, not their age on registration day. So:
+ A child turning 8 years old in November 2025 is placed in U10, even if they're still 7 when the season begins.
+ This is standard practice and ensures consistency across all teams.
Playing Up/Playing Down: Requesting that your child "plays up," (joining an older division) is generally allowed, if you feel that your player needs more of a challenge. "Playing down" (joining a younger division) is only allowed in rare cases and requires approval from the FDSA.
Combined Divisions: Due to registration numbers, we combine two (or three) divisions into one. This can help explain why it might feel like your player is too young for their correct division.
To break that down:
U6 = U5/U6
U8 = U7/U8
U10 = U9/U10
U12 = U11/U12
U15 = U13/U14/U15
