Proposed Albany LL Recreational Juniors Division
Albany LL is considering offering a recreational Junior Little League division for the Spring 2026 season. In order to gauge interest ALL is offering free registration to all interested 13 and 14 yo players that meet the age requirements described here. If the League then does elect to form a Junior level division, the regular $350 Albany LL registration fee will apply. Either way families will be notified of the League's decision before player evaluations occur in January 2026.
Albany LL Juniors Age Restrictions
The plan is to offer the Juniors division as a recreational (i.e. less competitive compared to a traditional travel 14U) program to players ages 13 or 14 yr old with the following restrictions:
- player's age is 13 before May 1st, 2026
- player's age is 14 before September 1st, 2026.
- these birthday restrictions this age range contains what the League considers "old" 13-yo's and all 14-yo's.
PLEASE NOTE: if your player is a "young" 13 yo (i.e. still age 12 on or after May 1st 2026 but turns 13 on or before August 31, 2026 then the player is considered a "young 13-yo" and should register for our more competitive Intermediate division which is open to all Little League age 11-12 and young 13 yo players.
If your player is a "young" 13 yo and wishes to play Rec Juniors or is not quite sure if they are ready for Intermediate, please still sign them up for the regular ALL 50/70 Intermediate division. You will be able to choose to move over to Rec Juniors later on once ALL determines the viability of offering the Juniors division.
Scholarships and Financial Hardships
Albany LL's policy is that all children that want to play baseball will be given the opportunity to play regardless of family financial situation or hardship. If you would like to receive a scholarship for financial hardship please email [email protected] noting how much your familiy can reasonably afford to pay and Albany LL will send you back a personalized discount code to cover the remainder of the registration cost, no questions asked.
Family Discounts
Multi-player families will automatically receive a $125 discount for every additional sibling registered in our 6-13 yo divisions. Please note: discounts for siblings will be automatically reflected in the "shopping cart" during registration check-out. Out of Area Registration
Attention families in parts of Berkeley and El Cerrito based upon your phycial address, during registration your address may appear in the registration system as "out of area" for the purposes of Albany Little League registration. Please ignore any registry notice presented by the registration system suggesting that your player lives outside of the Albany LL boundary. It is perfectly allowable for all residents of Berkeley and El Cerrito to register with Albany LL regardless of the messaging returned by the Sports Connect/Blue Sombrero registration system.
Missing Little League School Name
Little League International provides a list of schools that are considered inside the the Albany LL boundary. If during registration your child's school does not appear in the drop down list of schools, please choose "Other/None of the Above" and then select the school in the Other Schools dropdown. In any case your registration should proceed correctly.
