Palos Verdes Peninsula Pony League is a community-based recreational baseball program for 13- and 14-year-old players on the Palos Verdes Peninsula. If was founded in 1986 and continued through 2015. After a 10 year hiatus, PVPPL is back for the 2026 Spring Season. Our league serves as the next step after Little League, offering players a chance to continue playing organized baseball in a fun yet competitive setting that bridges the gap between youth baseball and high school programs.
The league emphasizes skill development, sportsmanship, and teamwork in an environment that reflects the values of the local community. Players learn to adapt to the larger field dimensions used at higher levels of the game—the pitching mound is set at 54 feet and the bases at 80 feet, compared to Little League’s 46-foot mound and 60-foot base paths. This transition helps athletes adjust to a more advanced style of play, preparing them for the full-sized 60/90 high school fields they’ll encounter next.
Palos Verdes Peninsula Pony League is operated entirely by local volunteers and supported by families, coaches, and community partners who share a commitment to providing quality youth baseball experiences. The league is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, ensuring that all funds are reinvested into field improvements, equipment, and player development to sustain a positive and inclusive program for all participants.
