How long is the season?
Regular season games are played from early March up until Memorial Day weekend in May.
Post-season play takes place in June and July for those teams/player’s that earn the privilege to play extra baseball.
What is the game schedule? How often are the games/practices?
Typically, one game is played during the week and one on the weekend. Teams practice once or twice a week (once only typically for the younger age groups).
Is the little league sponsored by the school district?
No , the little league is a separate entity from the school district. However, we do use New Haven Unified school facilities for practice and games. We rely on registration fees and fundraising efforts to sustain the league.

Where are games played?
Most games are played at James Logan High School in Union City, Ca. That is the home field for our little league.
Older divisions that “interleague” will occasionally play road games against other teams in Southern Alameda county (Hayward, Castro Valley, Fremont, San Lorenzo etc) similar to what the local soccer league and cyo basketball does.
Which Divisions do and don’t have tryouts?
Tee-ball - NO
Minor B, Minor A and Majors - YES
When will we know what team we are on?
- Tee Ball: Late January/ Early February
- Farms, Minors, Majors:Late January/ Early February
- 50/70: Early February
What do I need to buy in terms of Equipment and Uniform?
The League will provide a jersey and hat.
Players should provide their own:
- Glove
- Helmet
- Bat*
- Cleats
- Pants**
- Socks**
- Belt**
- Protective Cup
* Only USA Baseball Stamped bats allowed. Make sure that your bat has the USA stamp (effective 2018)
** The color of the pants, belt, and socks will be determined by the manager.
BEFORE YOU BUY A BAT...
Little League Baseball® has adopted the USA Baseball bat standard for mandated use effective January 1, 2018. T Ball and Farm Division will be allowed to use previously approved bats due to the fact that we use low compression balls in those division and we will check bats and provide a USA approved stamp if it meets the qualifications.
THIS MEANS THAT ANY BAT PURCHASED TODAY MUST HAVE THE NEW USA BASEBALL STAMP OR IT WILL NOT MEET THE NEW STANDARDS IN 2018.
