Pettway is a graduate of Worcester State University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Health Science and his M. Ed. in Counseling Psychology from Cambridge College. Pettway played four years at Worcester State for Tom Moore, currently the head men’s basketball coach at Quinnipiac University. Pettway is Worcester State's all time leading scorer with 2,204 points and a former All-American. In 2000 he was inducted into Worcester State University's Basketball Hall of Fame. Pettway served as an assistant coach at Worcester Academy, Worcester State University and Assumption College. Pettway currently works as a School Adjustment Counselor for the City of Worcester.
