Kate Lyn joins NY Xtreme FC

Kate Lyn, Former Head Coach for Marist College Women’s Soccer, has accepted a position at NY Xtreme FC. She will be responsible for further development of both the girl’s and boy’s programs. Furthermore, she will manage and oversee the implementation of proper curriculum benchmarks which will be the foundation for our youth training programs.

Kate Lyn recently resigned from her head coach position at Marist College to pursue other coaching endeavors. Leaving a mark in the Red Foxes record books as the only women’s soccer coach to win a MAAC Championship and head into the NCAA Tournament, Kate Lyn was setting new standards for the Division 1 Program. She received MAAC Coach of the Year in her first season. In her six seasons at the helm. Kate Lyn competed in 5 MAAC Championship Tournaments. 

Before her tenure at Marist College, Lyn worked at her alma mater Columbia University as the 1st assistant coach and Goalkeeper Director. 
Here she spent 4 seasons and amassed a record of 36-21-12 with 25 shutouts throughout. As top assistant, Lyn worked as the Assistant Director for the NYC Soccer Academy Camps. 
Outside of the college scene, Lyn continued her coaching work with Region I Olympic Development Program (ODP). She is currently a staff head coach for Region 1 ODP. 

Lyn holds a USSF ‘A’ license. She earned her B.A. in sociology and education from Columbia University in 2005 and completed her teaching certification in the Barnard Education Program. Lyn received her M.A. in Physical Education from Teachers College, Columbia University in 2011. She resides in Poughkeepsie, NY with husband Chris and 2 children, Peter and Victoria.
