"My daughters experience with Dead Frog not only helped her improve as a player it helped her grow in so many other ways as well. For this I am grateful!!"
"We had a great experience with Dead Frogs this year and my daughter's skills really improved over the course of the season!"
"The Dead Frog club has overall been an extremely positive experience for our whole family. In addition to developing volleyball skills, my daughter has made many friends with girls from fine families. My husband and I have truly enjoyed watching all team members grow, gel together with the team, and have enjoyed getting to know the other parents."
"My daughter played for the Dead Frog/DFFO Clubs for the past 5 years. Overall it was an excellent experience and one that I would recommend for any serious volleyball player. Many components were noteworthy but I'd like to highlight two:
1. RECRUITING. During my daughter's sophomore year (16s) she was heavily recruited by many colleges/universities. The process was exciting but it was also intense, confusing, complicated and exhausting. DFFO and especially her head coach, Ryan Manning, were instrumental in helping us sort through the information overload. Ryan went out of his way and spent many, many hours reading and answering emails, talking on the phone and chatting courtside with college coaches. Without his extra time and effort the process would have been even more daunting.
2. MENTAL TRAINING. Last year DFFO brought in a nationally known expert in the area of sports psychology and mental toughness. She worked with the teams on several occasions and really opened up a whole new world of potential for the players. DFFO has always done a great job with physical and technical/strategic training but this was a new and much needed aspect of the game that club players don't usually get. My daughter's coach, Joe Steenhuysen, continued working with her throughout the season and I feel gave her great support and direction with her mental game." - Dave and Gretchen Morin
"According to the “10,000 hour rule” the key to success in any field is, to a large extent, a matter of practicing a specific task for a total of 10,000 hours.
Six years ago our daughter, Katie, began a 10,000 hour journey with Dead Frog. Other teammates began their journey at Far Out. We would like to recognize the beginning of that journey and those early coaches at both clubs. Those first hours spent in drills, practicing basic skills, and suffering through tough losses with ugly volleyball are not easy. Those coaches set the stage for what is to come. At DFFO Katie continued the journey. Again coaches, some working on their own 10,000 hours, were willing to progress that skill building even though they knew that they would not finish the 10,000 hours with these players, where play is elite and publicized. Some coaches had to “live on the plateau” with the girls while these skills developed and matured. As a parent, I am very appreciative of the many hours Dead Frog and DFFO invested in Katie to help her begin her journey. To other parents, even if your daughter never completes those 10,000 hours, those hours spent training teach many valuable life lessons, so a thank you to all coaches." - Gina & Steve Schau
