June' Monthly Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 8:06pm, accepted by Ken, seconded by Vickie.

The secretary’s report was read and prepared by  Coleen, accepted by Deb, seconded by Bill.

The treasure’s report was read and prepared by Laurie, accepted by Ken, seconded by Bill.

President’s Report

June is nomination month for the Executive board for the upcoming year. The board will remain the same for the next year. This will be Rick’s last year as president, so now is the time to come to meeting and see what it means to be on the board.

Park View is done with their spring season. We don’t have to wait for their games to be over to take the field for games or practice. The Ex Board will review the schedule and work around them when scheduling next season’s practices and games.

All Star Games: Great games, great sportsmanship and great weather. Thank you to all the volunteers who came out to sing the national anthem.

Umps- going good with this organization, remember to do the pregame meetings.

Cancer Awareness Day- was a great turnout. Looking to possibly change the day to a Community Awareness Day, looking for ideas and a committee to look into available community resources needing donations.

Golf Tournament was held Saturday, June 3 at Triggs Golf Course. The weather held out, as usual!!! Great success, this event benefits both EGSL league and the Katie Lavey Scholarship Fund.  A million thank you’s to Laurie Lavey for all her hard work and organization. She is the driving force behind this event. Thank you to all the golfers and volunteers.

Walk a Thon: Will be held this Sunday, June 11 for 11-1. Join us and walk a few laps with friends, family and teammates. Prizes and Edgewood Bucks will be awarded.

Bats: Check them every game, have the umps check them as well. But please don’t insult a player by questioning her after her big hit.

Paw Sox Game: July 21, fun night to be with our Edgewood Family, take in a game and sit with your teammates. Wear your team shirts. Tickets will be available at the concession stand at a reduced price for players.

One Pitch- will begin Tuesdays in July, beginning 7/11@6pm. Bring your friends and family (even your brothers) , and of course water and join in the fun.

Wiffleball Tournament 7/29 Saturday at our field. Old players are organizing this great event, Colleen Kuplas and Alyssa Miguel, to honor their mothers. This fundraiser will benefit the Katie Lavey Scholarship fund and Cystic Fibrosis foundation.  Put together a team, it will be a load of fun. Info is on the website.
