Lakefront 7's

36th Annual Lakefront 7s Tournament June 20th 2018 Players, Parents, Coaches, and Fans, Welcome to the tag division of the 36th Annual Lakefront 7s Tournament! Lakefront 7s is the largest single day rugby tournament in the country, and there will be over 130 participating teams including nearly 40 tag rugby teams. Referees meeting will be held at 8:20, coaches meeting will be held at 8:30, and parents/players meeting will be held at 8:40. The tag rugby brackets will begin play promptly at 9:00 AM. We are on a tight schedule with games every 20 minutes on 7 fields for 3 straight hours, so forfeits may be charged to any team that is 5 minutes late. It is the responsibility of the players, coaches, and parents to get their teams to the appropriate field ahead of time.

There are 3 fields for 1st-2nd and 3rd-4th graders, and there are 4 fields for 5th-6th and 7th-8th graders that are more spread out (field map). We recommend getting to your designated field at least 10 minutes early. There is a scoring tent with the full schedule and results. Technology permitting, we hope to provide electronic scorekeeping with live updates during the tourney. Between games and after the kids are done playing, we hope that you will watch some of the high school and adult matches at the nearby main venue.

Tournament Amenities We have positioned port-a-johns close to the tag rugby fields this year for your convenience, but there are are also permanent restrooms nearby. Rugby Athletic, one of our major tournament sponsors, will have a satellite booth near the tag fields in addition to their large sales tent at the main venue. Concessions, including food and beverages, will be sold at the main tent near the adult fields.

Parking at Veterans Park is $5 paid, but you can gain fee entry if you bring 32 ounces of food donations to support the Hunger Task Force. There will be lots of visitors, so plan for extra time to park and walk to the tag rugby fields. Due to potential cancellations or no-shows, team representatives must check in at the information for possible scheduled changes and updates prior to the start of the tournament.
