Frequently Asked Questions

What is AROMA?
AROMA is the sports ministry branch of the Messiah University Athletic Department. AROMA stands for "A Revolution of Missional Athletes", and comes out of 2 Corinthians 2:14-15 where Paul reminds us believers that "...we are the AROMA of Christ among those who are being saved...". AROMA believes that by providing students the opportunity to participate in the Kingdom of God through sports, they begin to experience God's purpose and desire for sport in the world. They no longer wrap their identity in their performance, but rather begin living their true identity in Christ. As this become the new normal for Messiah students, it begins to create "A Revolution of Missional Athletes."

What are your COVID19 protocols?

All campers are asked to not attend if they are exposed to COVID within 3-5 days prior to camp. If any campers begin to develop symptoms while at camp, we have the capability to administer a rapid antigen test, however parental consent must be obtained to administer a test.  A parent may also choose to come and pickup his/her camper if they choose to not test for COVID.

We ask campers to practice healthy hand washing and cough hygiene practices.

How do I register?
Online under "Register Now"

Is there registration deadline?

No, but register soon because we close registration as soon as camp reaches max capacity! If camp is full, we will put your child on the waiting list in case a spot opens up.

What are my payment options?
Deposit: You can reserve your child’s place at camp with a $50 deposit --the remaining balance will be automatically charged to your credit card on June 1st.
Installments: You can pay a $50 deposit at registration and then a $75 installment will automatically be charged on both May 1st and June 1st to finalize payment.
Pay in Full: You are able to pay the full amount during registration.

Will I receive a confirmation e-mail?
Yes, immediately after you sign up for camp you will receive a confirmation e-mail as well as an e-mail receipt.

Can I print off a Registration Form and pay with a check?
No, the online registration is the only way to sign up for camp.

What is your refund policy?
If in the event you are unable to attend camp, you will receive a refund as defined below. Please understand that this policy is not intended to be an aggravation or nuisance, but is necessary in order for us to provide a high level camp experience. When possible refunds will be placed back on the original credit card used to register.  If the registration occurred over 120 days earlier then the refund will come in the form of a check.

• Cancellation notice must be submitted in writing via e-mail to Ryan Speer, [email protected]
• Cancellations made 15 days or more prior to the start of camp will be awarded a full refund minus a $10 Cancellation Fee.

Does my child need to bring sports equipment?
No, we provide all sports equipment. Campers should wear sneakers and bring a water bottle.

Does my child need to pack a lunch?
We offer a Chick-fil-a lunch program that can be purchased through your online registration for the individual days of camp. If you are not interested in purchasing a Chick-fil-a lunch, the camper needs to bring a packed lunch. No Chifk-fil-a offered at Cornerstone and Fishing Creek Locations.

Do I need to have my child get a physical?
No, a physical is not required for camp, however the online registration requires medical background and liability waiver.

Do I need to fill out any additional medical/insurance forms?

No, all the medical/insurance information is collected in the online registration process.

How are teams organized? Can my son or daughter be with his/her friends?
We work hard to make sure campers are with their friends. There is a “Teammate Request” option on the registration form, and although we work hard to make that happen it is not guaranteed.

Yes, we offer an early registration discount. If you are in need of a scholarship, please feel free to reach out to Ryan Speer (AROMA Camp Director - [email protected]).
