LITTLE LEAGUE DIVISION
The Little League Division is made up of 11-12 year old boys/girls. This is the highest level of play that MVBA offers. The teams in this division have the opportunity to compete in the highly televised Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA. To even have the chance to play in the World Series the following has to happen:
1. Win the Ohio District 5 Tournament (Teams typically from Cambridge, Granville, SW Licking, Guernsey County, Lakewood)
2. Win the Ohio State Tournament (All 11 District Winners from across the State participate)
3. Win the Great Lakes Regional Tournament (State Champions from Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin)
The dream of this happening to our boys/girls is very unlikely, but don't say that to the 2008 Mount Vernon LL All -Stars. They were able to win a District Championship, a State Championship and just fell short on a trip to Williamsport, finishing as the runner-up in the Great Lakes Region. Their dream almost became reality, so DREAM BIG!
