SLYCC has been created to promote the game of Cricket in the Southwest area of Greater Houston. We believe in making Cricket a fun sport to play for kids from the age of 6 to 17 and beyond. 

In 2018, we introduced our first HCL Div III team where players of various youth clubs including SLYCC got a chance to pit their talent against the adults. 

We coach cricket at 3 levels: Level 1 - The Fun level where kids get introduced to the basics of the game. All kids get equal opportunity to play, understand the game and have fun. (typically U10)

Level 2 - This is where things get serious but the game is still fun. We learn to be competitive, the laws of cricket start getting applied and kids begin to earn their position in the team. (typically 11-14 years)

Level 3 - Graduating from tennis ball / tape ball play to hardball cricket with pads, helmets and equipment. We bring in (or take you to) professional coaches with a serious emphasis on cricket being a major part of your teenage years. (typically 11+Experience).

There are no clear markings defining the above three levels. Younger kids with better skills can be moved up. Older kids, on the other hand, can play for fun.
