Baltimore City Gators Inc
History: Baltimore City Gators Inc. (BC Gators) has been around
for years, starting as a girls 9-10 team practicing at Herring Run Park in 2007.
The team was reformed in 2012 under George Roycroft with the help of Officer
Cameron Battle, who ran the Gator Program. The first 13U team was started at
The Stadium School, where Coach George Roycroft worked as a teacher. The
Baltimore Gators girls program played their games at the YMCA at Stadium Place
on 33rd Street in Baltimore City and was a part of the Maryland Youth Lacrosse
Association Midget C Division (13U). The team also competed in the Baltimore
City Middle School League where they were undefeated for 3 years. The team
accepted any girl that wanted to play from ages 8 to 13 years old. After the
Baltimore City Gators girls team disbanded as a recreation level team, they continued
as a high school club team, keeping the same name, but changing the colors. The
BC Gators Girls Lacrosse High School Club Team started in 2015 with the purpose
of providing girls of color, girls from disadvantaged areas, and girls that
just want to play the opportunity to play at the next level of lacrosse. We are
proud to say that we have obtained our 501(c)3 status January 2020 and have
joined FCA 2021. We are proud to have added a Middle School Team to the Gator
Family.
