Red Hornets Wrestling Club

ABOUT_
Coaches Corner:

Coaches letter to the community and the team,Ladies and gentlemen, gather 'round for a tale of grit, determination, and a whole lot of heart! Last winter, the Red Hornets Wrestling Club made its grand debut, not in some state-of-the-art facility, but in the back of an old restaurant that was barely standing. Picture this: a place too small, falling apart, with no heat—just the perfect environment for forging champions, right? But that didn't stop us. Nope, not even close.Imagine over 40 kids, most of them stepping onto a wrestling mat for the first time in their lives. They didn't know a single move on day one, but they showed up. For five intense months, they listened, learned, trained, and competed. They got pushed, shoved, and yes, thrown—both literally and figuratively. We saw it all: smiles, laughter, frustration, and even a few tears. And let's not forget the blood, sweat, and maybe a little bit of ketchup from the restaurant's leftovers—just kidding! Now, here's where it gets good. This scrappy bunch of first-year wrestlers, who knew absolutely nothing when they started, went on to win 161 matches! That's right, 161 victories in a season that, by the numbers, saw them lose 270 times. But here's the thing—those losses? They weren't setbacks; they were stepping stones. Because with every loss, these kids got tougher, smarter, and more determined.By the end of the season, they were no longer just kids—they were warriors, mentally tougher and physically stronger than ever before. And the best part? They're ready to take those hard-earned lessons and apply them in every aspect of their lives. As we look forward to the next season, I can't help but feel a surge of excitement. We're going to grow bigger, face tougher competition, and watch as this sport explodes across our community. The Red Hornets are here to stay, and we're not just participating—we're building the foundation that is going to dominate Indiana! So here's to the underdogs, the misfits, the ones who never gave up, even when the odds were stacked against them. This is just the beginning, and I can't wait to see what this next season holds. We'll see you soon.~Coach Ryan
