The High Peaks Skating Academy is a non-profit youth figure skating program. The club's mission is to provide local area youth with the opportunity to learn or improve their figure skating skills in a safe and fun environment.

Club funding is dependent upon membership fees, fundraising, and various donations.  The club is a registered 501c(3) non-profit organization.

The club is sanctioned by the United States Figure Skating Association.  This organization, based in Colorado, requires each sanctioned club to operate under specific standards and guidelines.  USFSA charges a registration fee for each skater.  They then provide the club and each registered member with insurance which limits the civic center and schools liability while we are on the ice. Once registered, your skater will be insured for the season, will receive a membership card in the mail, and will receive Skating Magazine.   

Our club is under the professional direction of Amy Payton.  Ms. Payton is from Lake Placid and has skated professionally with Disney on Ice.  She now works as a full-time skating coach in Lake Placid and with our club.  Ms. Payton choreographs 2 skate shows in Tupper Lake for us each season, one at Christmas and one at the end of the season.  In Saranac Lake our 1 show is held during winter carnival.
