Program Description:

 Delaware Soccer Association

In response to the growing interest in youth soccer throughout Central Ohio, the Delaware Soccer Association - DSA (formerly named Delaware Youth Athletic Association - DYAA) was established in 1975…now in our 47th year as our community’s largest and oldest children/youth/family sports program.

As stated in the Constitution and By-Laws, the purpose of DSA is to “organize, promote, train, administer, and educate amateur youth soccer players, coaches and referees…and to encourage good sportsmanship and fair play within.”

Originally, DSA was formed to serve children and youth of the Delaware, Ohio community by organizing recreational and competitive /club soccer teams who both practice and play games in designated age brackets during the spring and fall seasons.

Today, DSA serves children, youth and adults during the summer, fall, winter and spring seasons…programs for all ages and stages!

Within DSA, there are two types of programs…recreational and competitive.  DSA’s recreational programs are provided through the Delaware Recreational Soccer Club (DRSC).  DSA’s competitive programs are provided through the Delaware Knights Soccer Club (DKSC).

Each team plays eight to ten games per season, with many of the teams also participating in area tournaments.  The following represents the various leagues within the Delaware Recreational Soccer Club and the Delaware Knights Soccer Club:

·       Pre-School – Pre-K  (recreational)

·       Kindergarten and First grade (recreational)

·       Second and Third grade (recreational and competitive)

·       Fourth and Fifth grade (recreational and competitive)

·       Sixth grade (recreational and competitive)

·       Seventh and eighth grade (recreational and competitive)

·       Ninth through twelfth (competitive)

·       Over age 18 (recreational)

All teams are single sex teams; all participants are provided the opportunity to play soccer in DSA program, regardless of skill level, experience or school affiliation.  In total, there are over 1200 children, youth and adults participating in DSA programs.  DSA soccer games and practices are played on public parks and facilities in Delaware, Ohio.

In addition to DSA’s regular fall and spring outdoor soccer seasons, DSA also conducts summer camps for individuals/teams as well as indoor Futsal soccer and indoor skill-development training.

DSA is led by its hands-on Board of Directors, coaches, team administrators and referees…all working together to assure that the children, youth and adult soccer players in DSA have a positive experience each season.  In total, it takes approximately 4525 hours to operate the Delaware Soccer Association soccer program every season.

On behalf of the many children, youth and adults positively impacted by DSA’s programs, we thank you for your interest and support.
