1. National Federation of High School rules will apply to all ages.
2. Exception Micros 2nd,3rd and 4th grade will shoot Free Throws at a distance of 12.5 feet.
3. Ball Specifications. 6th Grade Boys will use 29.5. all others will use a 28.5, Micros 27.5
4. Games will be two 20 minute halves with a halftime of ten minutes .Play day Directors has the discretion of shortening halftimes to keep games on schedule.
All clocks will run until last 2 minutes of each halve. Clock will stop for all timeouts. after time outs clock will not resume until ball is made live. Overtime will be
3:00 regulation clock, each team will get a full timeout in addition to any that was left in regulation. No Sudden Death in TVBA. Clock will also stop for technical s both Direct and Indirect, injury, equipment issues. No RUNNING CLOCK in OVERTIME.
5. Games will not start early, game will start at scheduled times
6. Scorekeepers will sit at Score table, home team will be the official book. Score book must be checked in 10 minutes prior to game. A technical foul will be
assessed to the bench if score book is not at table. Score books must include players full name and number. If contest is over and officials have left the floor we cannot fix error on score board, errors must be fixed when they become known during game. if a child is asked to keep the book, the other team will then be appointed the official score book.
7. Only Head coach is allowed to stand during game.
8. Host schools will be responsible for officials, officials will be paid out of gate.
9. Host schools must provide game balls as well as warm-up balls
10. Team Rosters as well as current report card or progress report and copy of Birth Certificate. must be turned in before play, rosters will include full name, address, school, Rosters are frozen two weeks before tournament play begins, players will not occupy two rosters during any tournament games, rosters must be made up by players from same school.
Players who are home schooled are attend private schools may play at the public school in which school district they reside. Unless that private school has a team registered in the TVBA that boy/girl would have to play for his/her own school team then.
August 1st will be cutoff.
8th Grade/14u, cannot turn 15 before August 1st of current season
7th Grade/13u, cannot turn 14 before August 1st of current season
6th Grade/12u, cannot turn 13 before August 1st of current season
5th Grade/11u, cannot turn 12 before August 1st of current season
4th Grade/ 10u,cannot turn 11 before August 1st of current season
3rd Grade/ 9u cannot turn 10 before August 1st of current season
2nd Grade/ 8u cannot turn 9 before august 1st of current season
1st Grade/ 7u cannot turn 8 before August 1st of current season
If a player turns for example 12 before August 1st of current school season he/she will play up or not play at all. The 6th Grade division will not be affected by this rule because the player has no where to play.
11. Uniforms must be either reversible or dark or havetwo sets light and a dark. Uniforms must bear school name or mascot. AAU names are not acceptable. r
Numbers must be on front and back. Numbers on jerseys must be single or double digit with neither number being greater than 5. Under shirts if worn must
of the dominat color of the uniform, example, white uniform white under shirt.
12. Admission will be $5
12 a. Unsportsmanlike Conduct: A player, coach or spectator who has been ejected during a TVBA event due to unsportsmanlike conduct may be removed from the TVBA all together for the remainder of the season, Coaches or spectators who are ejected will leave the school boards property completely, they will not be allowed in the gym. spectators who are removed for profanity and threats will be banned from attending TVBA events.
12 b. Players , coaches or spectators who are ejected from the gym will serve the following.
First ejection. Two game suspension
2nd ejection: Suspended for the rest of the season
3rd ejection: Wont be a 3rd ejection!!!!!!
12 c Officials at their discretion may stop play due to injury. These are kids and as much we try and emulate the high school play we always recommend safety regardless if the offensive player is in a scoring position.
12 d Players who are serving a in school suspension will also be suspended from playing in the TVBA When they have served their suspension they will be allowed back on the court. .
12 e. Coaches and Spectators who approach and threaten officials, score keepers, concession workers, gate keeper will cause immediate removal from play in TVBA.
13. Entry Fee is $300 per team, insurance is $8.55 cents per player. October 15th is deadline. $350 per team after this date. No Exceptions
14. Coaches are responsible for their fans.
15. If coaches and players are ejected for any reason, officials will notify director. players are not permitted to bite, punch, cuss, etc
16. Teams who sign up for play and do not show up are fined. Weeknight game are $100, Saturday games are $200.
17. Teams cannot start a game with less than 5 players, you can finish with less than 5 tho.
18. Teams listed first on schedule will be the home team and will sit to the left of the score table
19. Complaints will not be heard on game day, Complaints will neve be heard from parents and grandparents, they complain to coach and coach complains to
Director.
20. Mercy rule. if team is ahead by 20 clock will continue to run throughout game
20.5 Teams who are ahead by 30 points will not be allowed to press anymore. Coach who continue to make a effort to beat team even worse after this point will serve a 6 game suspension. Elevated scores serve no purpose whatsoever. Humility is a component of a successful life also.
21. Teams who are not members of the TVBA will pay $25 a game plus admission
22. Any team who signs up for play days and then removes themselves off signups will sit two weeks before playing again.
23. Only players and coaches are allowed on bench.
24. Conduct is a condition of membership in the TVBA.
25. The TVBA has long welcomed grade school teams from abroad. However in a effort to reduce scheduling conflicts with teams who also plays in youth leagues. If you signup, make the schedule, then asked to be removed from TVBA schedule because of youth league. You will be removed from TVBA all together. DONT SIGN UP IF YOU HAVE SOMETHING ELSE TO DO
26. Director has right to amend, reschedule, terminate, remove, or make decisions based on what is best for TVBA.
