Travel Program

The Clay Youth Soccer Club travel program is a member of the Indiana Soccer League (ISL), which is Indiana's Statewide Developmental Competitive League as a part of Indiana Soccer.  There are two seasons, fall (August-October) and spring (March-June), for each club year with tryouts each June for the next year.  Fall season includes ages 8U-14U, and spring season includes ages 8U-19U.

Travel Commitment

Travel soccer is a greater time commitment for both players and parents than recreational soccer.  It is a more competitive environment than recreational soccer, and is geared towards producing long term players of the game.  Practices are typically held 2-3 times per week  but can fluctuate as needed.  Practices and home games are at the soccer fields behind North Clay Middle School in Brazil.  Games are held on Saturdays and Sundays with a mix of home and away games.  Away games are within the state of Indiana, usually within a 75 mile radius or less.  While the club decides the level of play entered (Premier being the highest level of play in ISL through 5th division), the ISL decides the play groups and travel distance within each.  Schedules are determined by the ISL with club input for blackout dates for games.  A typical season schedule has 6-10 league games.  Each club is also encouraged to schedule friendlies with other clubs and to enter tournament play as appropriate.

Fees

The current registration fee is $150 per season played, plus uniform cost which is up to $60 for jerseys, shorts, and socks.  A new uniform purchase is not required each season.  Tournament fees are separate from registration fees, but participation in a tournament is not required.  There is a fundraiser each season to help keep registration fees as low as possible.  While participation in the fundraiser is not mandatory, there is a buyout option for each fundraiser that varies depending upon the fundraiser.

Player Evaluations/Tryouts

Player evaluations/tryouts are typically held in June/July for the competitive year. A spring tryout may occur during the winter months as needed to form additional teams or fill roster vacancies.  Every effort is made to place each player wanting to join the club onto a team.  However, anyone wanting to join a team after tryouts have concluded will only be accepted if additional players are needed on a team.
