The Eden Prairie Soccer Club is committed to providing a high-quality, affordable youth soccer program. The financial aid program exists to help ensure that players with a financial need have the opportunity to participate in EPSC programs. EPSC aims to offer some financial aid to all players who demonstrate need, within the financial limits established in the EPSC operating budget for the current year.
Paying the first registration Installment, making a payment plan outside of regular installments or applying for financial aid all equate to “Registering to play at EPSC”. Anyone who is denied Financial Aid has the right to apply for a release.
PURPOSE:
Financial aid grants are applied toward a player’s EPSC CLUB FEES. Other costs, such as uniforms, tournaments, coaching fees, EPSC+ fees and indoor training facility fees are the responsibility of the player/player’s family. The EPSC encourages coaches, team managers, and team families to work together to assist those players who cannot cover all or a portion of their team expenses through team fundraising, coaching fee waivers, or direct support from other team families.
FINANCIAL AID AWARD LEVELS:
Award levels vary according to need, and are granted in dollar amounts to be deducted from the EPSC CLUB FEE. Among the criteria considered in determining whether to grant financial aid, and the appropriate amount of aid, are applicant family income, family size, player age, and the player’s relevant history with EPSC. In all instances where the EPSC grants financial aid, the EPSC expects the player/player’s family to provide 2 additional 3-hour shifts (total of 6 additional hours of volunteer time to EPSC).
PROOF OF NEED:
All applicants must make application for financial aid on the form designated by EPSC, and all applications must include documentation establishing proof of need. Proof of need is best established through submission of the applicant’s family’s most recent Federal income tax return (complete with schedules). Additional documents that may be submitted to establish proof of need include current pay stubs for the applicant’s parents/ guardians. All documentation must be submitted prior to the Due Date of the EPSC CLUB FEE you are requesting assistance for (August 15 for teams forming after Summer tryouts – and following team formation after Spring tryouts).
CONFIDENTIALITY:
The EPSC will attempt to maintain all financial aid data in strict confidence. The identity of financial aid applicants and recipients will be shared only on a “need to know” basis within the EPSC (e.g. with Financial Aid Committee members, the EPSC Operations Manager, and the EPSC Treasurer). Documents submitted as proof of need during the application process will be destroyed upon final adjudication of the award application.
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS:August 15th following Fall Tryouts, no applications submitted after this date will be accepted.
