Become a volunteer

The CYAA relies heavily on our dedicated volunteers to make all of our programs and facilities successful.  If you wish to become a volunteer in any capacity please contact us or come to one of our board meetings.  Board meetings take place the first Monday of the month at 8:00pm located at the CYAA field house.  All volunteers that come in direct contact with children are required to get the clearances listed below.

Coaching Interest

An individual who wishes to become a coach in any capacity must clear the PSP criminal background check, the Child Abuse history clearance, and the FBI criminal background check (if you have lived outside the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the last 10 years).  In addition, coaches must pass the on line concussion certification course.  We have provided the links for your convenience below as well.

Potential coaching candidates will also adhere to the following as stated in the Catasauqua Youth Athletic Association Constitution (Section 10)

                                          Section 10.  Managers and Coaches
Team Managers and Coaches shall be appointed annually by the President, as a result of written
applications, nominations, voting by the Board Membership, and approved by the Board of Directors.
Managers shall be responsible for the selection of their teams.  All managers shall be responsible for
their actions and the actions of their teams on the field.  There is no seniority or tenure in the role of
manager, coach, or umpire.  All appointments expire at the conclusion of each season.  Managers and
coaches must attend Board meetings during their respective season.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer.

Beginning July 1, 2015, any adult applying for a position as a volunteer that will have direct contact with children is required to

                  get the following clearances:

                                   • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (PSP)

                                   • Child Abuse History Clearance from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (Child Abuse).

                                   • A fingerprint based Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) criminal history- if the volunteer has lived outside the

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the last ten years. Volunteers who are not required to obtain the FBI Clearance

because they have been a continuous resident of Pennsylvania for the past ten years must swear or affirm in writing that

they are not disqualified from service.

All volunteers will be required to obtain these clearances every 36 months. The clearances will cost:
