AC Delray Youth Soccer

The Club's History

  • It’s Founding
AC Delray was originally founded in 1978 by a group of volunteers who wanted to introduce the sport of soccer to both local youth and adult players. The original name of the club was the Delray Beach Soccer League. The club was incorporated in 1982 into a not-for-profit corporation, then known as Delray Beach Soccer League, Inc.   The club was officially granted 501(c)(3) charitable status in the early 1990s. The Club then changed its corporate name to Delray Beach Soccer Club, Inc.,. in 2002, recognizing the stable growth of its competitive soccer program. In 2007, the club joined with the founders of Delray Beach Riptide Lacrosse to create what would later become Delray Beach Athletic Club Inc. officially in 2009.  Presently, both the lacrosse program and soccer program have formed their own non-for profit entity and operate as separate corporations under the DBAC, Inc. umbrella.
