Marsing Youth Wrestling FAQ's 

Marsing Youth Wrestling is switching things up in 2022 and we will be participating with Idaway Wrestling and competing in folkstyle tournaments. Practices will begin early January and tournaments will take place on usually on Saturdays from January through the mid-April.  Their website is www.idawaywrestling.com

For the 2022 Season, we will be allowing wrestlers ages 5 through 12. 
 
FAQ's:
Fees - There is a $70 fee due at the time of registration. This covers our cost for your child's Idaway membership, a shirt and leave a bit left for us to purchase needed supplies like mat tape disinfectant, etc. 
Tournaments - All wrestlers compete in Age and Weight divisions so they will be competing with someone within about 1 year in age and 3-5 pounds in weight. Weigh ins are normally held at the last practice before the tournament and the smaller kids (5 - 8) normally wrestle first and the older groups will be after but each tournament sets their own schedule.
Practices - Practices will be a couple of weekday evenings Likely Wed/Thur in the Old High School Gym across the highway from Logans and time will be dependent on space and number of wrestlers.
Registration - All wrestlers will be required to complete the online registration and will need to sign a parental release/waiver at the first practice. First year athletes will also be required to provide a birth certificate for your wrestler.  

First Time??? - If your child is interested in wrestling but you and they are not certain I am more than happy to host them for the first couple of practices so they can give it a try before you spend the money. You will need to sign the waiver/release and if they decide to continue then registration will be reopened and you will be required to register them at marsingyouthsports.com and the USA Wrestling Membership Card.
I only ask that if you intend to have your child "try it out" please send me an email to [email protected] so she can add you to the initial communication and can plan accordingly for practice space.
