Rush is committed to making soccer a pleasant, safe and rewarding experience for everyone involved, regardless of age or ability. We believe that all players are winners because everyone is afforded an equal opportunity to explore their potential and pursue positive outcomes on and off the field. Through quality coaching, sound leadership and absolute sincerity, the Rush will work to be the best club in the state, nation, and world. What is the Developmental Branch?
The Developmental Branch (U3-U12) exists to allow any player, irrespective of ability, the opportunity to take their first steps into soccer. Players are able to play in both fall and spring seasons or just one season. Fall registration begins in June with the season starting in early September and running through November. Spring registration will begin in January with the season starting in March and running through May. We do accept late registrations on a space available basis with no late fees.
The Developmental Branch is divided into two main programs. These programs divide players by age (based on their birth year) For the 2020/2021 season, U3/U4 players are 2017 and 2018 birth years and U5-U12 players are 2009/2010/2011/2012/2013/2014/2015/2016 birth years. The Rush Pueblo West Developmental Program is an exciting, fun and energetic program for players U5-U12! Teams will be formed by birth year based on similar schools, neighborhoods, and friends. This unique recreational program will provide players with a solid knowledge and love for the game of soccer. Rush aims to foster a safe, fun, educational experience for your child as well as a solid foundation for a lifetime game.
In order for the Developmental Program to be a success, it relies on the commitment of parent volunteers to coach a team. Rush Pueblo West supports all volunteers with session plans and coaching advice to ensure players get to develop in their team environment.

Game Format
According to the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), 3v3 and 4v4 small-sided games should not have Goalkeepers. Goalkeepers should be introduced at around the U9 age group (7v7 game format). With SAFETY being a core value of Rush Soccer, players need to be protected at the young ages due to under-developed coordination and hand-eye skills. Individuals that would like to learn the role of a Goalkeeper are encouraged to attend the Goalkeeping practices delivered by the club so that they can develop the basics.
U3-U5 - 3v3 Game Format
U6-U8 - 4v4 Game Format
U9-U12 - 7v7 Game Format (adapted to ensure less players on the field maximizing more ball contact and space to play in)
