Dining with Allergens and/or Dietary Restrictions at Messiah University

Dining with Allergens and/or Dietary Restrictions at Messiah University:

Lottie Nelson Dining Hall offers a variety of menu items daily that exclude the eight most common food allergens. These include Fish, Shellfish,  Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Wheat, Soy, Milk and Eggs.

Although Messiah College does its best to provide for the needs of students and guests with food allergies or gluten-restricted diets, the College  is not an allergen-free or gluten-free environment. Our staff have been trained in the handling and preparation of food in accordance with safe  food practices to reduce the risk of cross-contact. Every attempt is made to provide accurate ingredient information to our customers through  our online nutritional analysis software so that allergen-containing ingredients can be identified by the customer. However, there is always the  risk of cross-contact, especially if a customer does not self-identify their food allergy at the point-of-service and as a result the menu items  consumed were not prepared separately from the general menu offerings. Additionally, there is always the possibility of manufacturer or  vendor substitutions in ingredients or change in specifications of a formulation.

For guests of the College who can eat in the campus dining restaurants Self-Managing their allergens and food restrictions, there is no need to fill  out the “Allergen Form for Conference/Camp”, or to contact Dining Services. Please review our NetNutrition program.

NetNutrition @ Messiah -  Nutrition and allergen information is available 24/7 on line for the menu items and offerings served in the restaurants at  Messiah College. The information is inclusive of nutritional data, ingredient data, and dietary allergens information. The Net Nutrition software  program also allows for guests of the college to filter (exclude) allergens and or dietary menu preferences from the list of menu offerings. The menus  are available on NetNutrition two weeks in advance.  To view NetNutrition @ Messiah, please view the link below: www.messiah.edu/menu

Special Dietary Accommodations:  For guests of the college with medically diagnosed dietary allergens or restrictions that will require the professional  support of the Nutritionist and Executive Chef to eat in the campus dining restaurants, please complete “The Allergen Form for Conference /Camp”  by viewing the link below.  This form must be completed 30 days prior to the start of camp:
