6U Fun with Softball:  Sunday, March 24th @ 1PM - 2PM

10U Player Evaluations:  Sunday, March 24th @ 3:30PM - 6PM (Pitching evals 5PM-6PM)

Opening Day 6U, 8U, 10U:  April 27th, 2019 (Rain Date: April 28th, 2019)

16U Player Evaluations: Friday, February 22nd TIME: 6:30PM @ Mountaineer Middle School!!! 
Who should attend? ANS:  Any player who plans to try out for a school team that also wants to play in the MCGSA Rec ball league. 

 
12U will not change. Once middle school ball is complete, evaluations and team formation will proceed. 

Coaches:

How do I submit for a background check?  ANS:  www.registerusasoftball.com.
All head coaches must register with USA Softball, pass a background check, complete the Safe Sport and ACE coaches certification.  At a minimum, any coach/parent volunteer (in the dugout or on the field) MUST pass a background check!!!

Important !!! All Coaches will need to be Background Checked and Safe sport trained. Only One Coach per team is required to have current Ace training>. Equipment Requirements:
 
6U: Glove, fielders Face Mask, helmet with face guard, (Optional, personal bat, cleats)

8U: Glove, fielders face mask, batters helmet with face guard, (Optional, personal bat, cleats) 

10U: Glove, fielders face mask, batters helmet with face guard (Optional, personal bat, cleats)

12U: Glove, fielders face mask, batters helmet with face guard (Optional, personal bat, cleats)

16U: Glove, fielders face mask for any infield position, a face mask is HIGHLY recommended for all positions, batters helmet with face guard (Optional, personal bat, cleats)


Practice Times:  

Practices are schedule to begin the week of April 1st.  Each team will receive 1 week night practice and 1 weekend practice. Once games begin, coaches will still be able to practice during their weekend time slot, unless the park is being utilized for another event. 

Game Days: 

Games are typically played Mon - Fri, and two(2) Saturdays/season (opening day & one other Saturday)

Board Meetings:

When are board meetings?  ANS:  Every 3rd Wednesday of the month @ 6:30PM
Where are board meetings:  ANS:  In the concession stand unless otherwise posted. 
Who can attend these board meetings?  ANS:  Any member of the MCGSA Recreational or Travel Ball community as well as the Granville Parks and Rec Director.
