The essential elements for character-building and ethics in sports are embodied in the concept of sportsmanship and six core principles: 
1- trustworthiness, 2- Respect, 3- Responsibility, 4- Fairness, 5- Caring, and 6- Good Citizenship

1.       As a District 15 Little League Program (via Schoolcraft LL #1220203) parent/family member, I WILL:

a.       Remember that children participate to have fun

b.       Be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship

c.       Teach my child to play by the rules and resolve conflicts without resorting to hostility or violence

d.       Demand that my child treats coaches/coaching staff, officials, and other players with respect regardless of race, creed, color, sex, or ability

e.       Teach my child that doing one’s best is more important than winning

f.        Praise my child for competing fairly and trying hard

g.       Promote the emotional and physical wellbeing of athletes ahead of my personal desire to win

h.       Respect the officials and their authority during games

2.       As a District 15 Little League Program (via Schoolcraft LL #1220203) parent/family member, I WILL NOT:

a.       Force my child to participate

b.       Engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or parent

c.       Boo, taunt, refuse to shake hands, or use profane language

d.       Encourage any behaviors or practices that would endanger the health and wellbeing of athletes

e.       Ridicule or yell at my child or other participants for making a mistake or losing a game

f.        Use drugs, tobacco, or alcohol at any league event

g.       Coach my child or other players during games and practices unless I am a coach/coaching staff.

h.       I pledge to follow this code of conduct.

The Little League Parent and Volunteer Pledge:

A.      I will teach all children to play fair and do their best

B.      I will positively support all managers, coaches, and players

C.      I will respect the decisions of the umpires

D.      I will praise a good effort despite the outcome of the game
