2025 Spring Flag Football

MLO FLAG FOOTBALL

This 8-game season is held on Saturdays which is a 5v5, non-contact, recreational, co-ed format for ages 5-18 years old. Our Girls divisions are 12u, 14u and High School. We try to limit teams to 10 players to maximize playing time. This is an exceptional program for first-time players who want to learn the fundamentals of football. This is also a wonderful opportunity for players who want to continue enhancing their skills before taking the next leap into tackle football. There is a skills tryout that everyone MUST complete in order to participate!

Games will take place tentatively between 8:30 am - 2 pm on Saturdays (subject to change depending on field availability, weather, and league size). Exact schedules will be created and posted 1-2 weeks before the season’s start date but are subject to change from time to time. Practices take place ONLY at Optimist Park on weekdays contingent on Head Coach availability!

Participants will receive an NFL FLAG reversible jersey, NFL FLAG shorts, NFL FLAG socks and flag belt/flags, theirs to keep that is included in their registration! (Refer to our sizing chart below for the NFL FLAG uniform size options). No alterations to uniforms can be made without MLOFLAG or OCML approval. Any alterations can lead to suspension, penalty and/or fine.

Every Division enters the playoffs. Our 6U Division will all receive an award at the end of the season.

In our 8U-HS Divisions, only 1st and 2nd place will receive awards!

Our program relies on volunteer parents to coach our teams! We encourage all parents interested in volunteering to do so during the registration process and must pass a background check by the Town of Miami Lakes. Positions available are Head Coach and Assistant Coach. We will provide several resources along with a comprehensive coaches' meeting before the seasons to ensure all coaches have a fun and successful season!

*HEAD COACH POSITION IS NOT GUARANTEED*

Registration will be from December 1st, 2024 - January 31st, 2025. Late registration will continue from January 25th-31st dependent on open spaces left on teams. We will close registration for each division depending on the Head Coach request amount for division in question. Players can be placed on a Waitlist until a Head Coach opening is filled. All players must be fully registered 24 hours before Draft Day. Any player on the waitlist at that time will be sent a cancelation notice for this season.

IMPORTANT SEASON DATES FOR THE SPRING 2025 SEASON:

· Coach Meeting: TBD.

· Tryouts: February 4th-6th, 2025 (day varies on division).

· Draft: February 15th, 2025.

· Season First Game: Saturday, March 8th, 2025.

Please note, GAMES WILL NOT BE HELD ON SATURDAY, March 22nd and 29th (SPRING BREAK).

· Season Expected End Date: Saturday, May 17th, 2025.

*Miami Lakes Resident Registrations will be accepted ONLY from December 1st-14th. Non-Resident registers at regular price.

**Registration will remain open at regular price until January 24th.

***Late Registration from January 25th-31st has a $15.00 late fee applied.
