STOMP AND SHAKE CHEER
Stomp & Shake cheerleading is a high-energy, rhythmic style of cheer that originated in African American communities and is popular at HBCUs and youth programs. It focuses on powerful movements, sharp arm motions, stomping, clapping, and bold chants rather than traditional tumbling and stunts.
This style is known for its intensity, attitude, and creativity, with cheerleaders using their voices, body percussion, and synchronized routines to hype up the crowd and support their team. Stomp & Shake also emphasizes confidence, teamwork, and cultural expression, making it both a performance art and a form of community pride.
TRADITIONAL CHEER
Cheerleading is a team-based activity that combines athleticism, dance, and spirit to support and energize sports teams and entertain crowds. It includes chants, cheers, stunts, tumbling, and routines performed on the sidelines or in competitions.
Cheerleaders play an important role in building team spirit, confidence, and community, while also developing skills like coordination, teamwork, leadership, and discipline. It can be both a school-based activity and a competitive sport, with athletes training year-round to perfect their routines
