FAQ
1. North Howell Little League is open to all children
ages 4 through 15. Ages are based off of Little League age rules which can be found here:
Little League Age. If your child is 3 years old but turns 4 before 8/31/2026, they are eligible to play.
2. Opening Day Ceremony is TBD. First practices will begin early to mid March. Games will begin on or around March 28th, 2026.
3. Baseball has the following divisions:
a. Tee Ball (Ages 4-5, 1st Year Players Only): This division is designed for first-year players taking their first steps in baseball. The focus is on teaching basic skills like hitting, throwing, and fielding in a fun, supportive environment. It’s purely instructional, with an emphasis on building confidence and a love for the game.
b. Pee Wee (Ages 5-6, Tee & Coach Pitch): This division is ideal for our 2nd-year players and focuses on developing fundamental baseball skills. Games combine tee and coach pitching, with a focus on transitioning to purely coach pitch (on a knee) by midseason. Players will learn positions while building skills and having fun.
c. Rookie (Ages 7-8, Kid & Coach Pitch): This division is a competitive yet instructional league, ideal for players ready to advance their skills. Score is kept, and kids will have the opportunity to pitch from 42-46 feet. While competition is introduced, this is still a learning league focused on player development.
d. Minors (Ages 9-10, Kid Pitch): This is a competitive league where players pitch exclusively. Scores and standings are tracked, and the season culminates in a playoff. While competition is a focus, players are still learning and developing their skills in a supportive environment.
e. Majors (Ages 11-12): This league focuses on skill refinement and teamwork, with players competing at a higher level of play. It’s a great opportunity for players to continue their development and prepare for the next stage of baseball.
f. Juniors (Ages 13-15, 60-90 Field): A competitive league where players refine their skills and prepare for middle and high school-level play. The focus is on developing the technical and mental aspects of the game while fostering teamwork. Games will be played at North Howell and surrounding Little Leagues in the area.
4. Costs associated with registration:
Total Payment: While the initial cost may seem high, families can significantly reduce their financial responsibility by selling raffle tickets and donating 6 hours of their time. By doing so, they will only be responsible for the division fee. The cost to run the league is substantial, and the raffle helps support the budget, ensuring a quality experience for all players.
a. Division Fee: Tee Ball $75, Pee Wee $150, all other divisions $225. There is a $50 family discount for multiple children registered.
b. Volunteer Fee: $150 (Refunded if 6 Hours are met. Managers will receive 4 hours and Assistant Coaches will receive 2 hours.)
c. Raffle Ticket Purchase: $100 (Tickets can be sold at face value to friends and families. There will be several raffle prizes given out on Opening Day.)
5. Uniforms cannot be distributed unless registration is paid in full.
6. There may be an evaluation for all baseball players ages 7-12 prior to the season (Date and location to be announced).
7. Registration will close on February 15, 2026.
8. Season typically runs from early to mid March until early June. Practice schedule is determined by Manager. Typical schedule is one practice a week and two games. Can vary depending on division.
