NFL Flag Venice Speed and Agility Summer Camps
Pass, Punt, Kick Competition INCLUDED with awards!
During the camp, we will break the players into age groups. The first 4 days we will work on Speed and Agility drills and various football drills such as passing, catching, throwing etc. We will do a lot of competition using cone work and various drills to help the athlete to play faster at any sport. At the end each days camp we will conclude with a fun game of Flag football. Each days drills will be age appropriate drills that work on their speed and agility and ways to improve their overall athleticism in any sport. This will include a lot of change or direction, balance, hand and eye coordination, short burst of quickness as we work on both linear and lateral speed to get these athletes to learn how to play fast and have fun at the same time. This camp is not only for Flag football, any sport that requires a fast change of direction, linear and lateral speed. Most athletes need to know how to play fast and work on their footwork to improve their overall athleticism. Our goal is to make it FUN, while the kids are improving and learning each day of the camp.
The last day of the weekly camp we will be having our NFL Pass, Punt and Kick competition. The players will be broken into their age groups during this competition and awards will be given after to the winners per age that group. Competition rules are very simple, the athlete with the most total yards, wins. They will be judged on a total yardage of Pass, Punt and Kick that must stay in bounds. If the ball is passed, kicked or punted out of bounds, this is where the yards will be measured. This will be a fun event that adds a little competition among players and we have cool MVP rings for the winners of each age group.
To Register, click Register then sign for either one of the two camps. One is in June and one in July. Both camps will have the Pass, Punt, Kick competition at the end of the camp. We will mix the drills up per camp in case some athletes want to sign up for both. We look forward to helping these kids improve their overall athleticism while having a ton of fun. Most camps, kids get nothing from them, this camp we attend to help these kids learn how to become better athletes.

WHY SPEED AND AGILITY CAN HELP PLAYERS OVERALL ATHLETICISM!
Over the past 15 years I have had the pleasure of coaching/training hundreds of athletes, and many parents always asked me...
How can I increase my kids speed and agility and overall athletic development?
What specific drills can we teach our kids to improve athletic performance as they grow older and play
multiple sports?
Specifically, in flag football, how can I teach my kids to catch, pass, run precise routes and improve overall performance
with speed and agility on the field?
The answer to the above questions is very simple:
Kids need to have fun when training. Plain and simple! If you make it fun, and at the same time make it effective, their agility, speed, change
of direction, balance, hand-eye coordination and overall athleticism increases tremendously. Kids love games and the camp will involve GAMES
to engage the kids because they learn as they play. The Summer camp will provide different games for the kids to compete but a ton of fun
while doing it.
Additionally, since this is an NFL Flag Venice camp, I will focus specially on how to get better at throwing, catching and running routes to improve the athletes speed and ability while playing flag. We will work all facets of the game including flag pulling, taking correct angle drills, learning all the pass routes on the route tree, catching and throwing the ball correctly etc. I want the kids to have fun during this camp and come away being a more confident, skilled football player. These drills do carry over to all sports, because the drills section of the camp will be focused on linear speed and change of direction speed. We will focus on getting the kids to become overall better athletes and to achieve the confidence they need to have fun at the sports they love.
I have coached multiple sports over the past 15 years, flag football, tackle football, soccer, basketball, baseball, wrestling.
and even helped kids with tennis. I have been part of coaching on many local, state and national seasons/playoffs/tournaments in these sports.
The camp will focus on age-appropriate drills that are fun but work on their linear speed as well as their multiple direction speed. Drills that focus on
changing directions frequently help develop proper growth and development of specific muscles. This can improve the athlete's
skills, speed, agility and overall athletic performance in any sport. Each exercise must be fun to keep the kids engaged. These skills will be help them improve their proper balance, coordination, correct body positioning and hand/eye coordination. These conditioning/training sessions will be FUN and the kids will be working on muscles to improve their overall athletic ability. What I have found over these years is that many athletes think that weightlifting is the only answer to speed and agility. The opposite can be true for many athletes. Yes, weight training is an effective tool to develop strong muscles, however, speed and agility require exercises and training that weights cannot do. Change of direction is very important for the development of these muscles to increase athletic performance such as speed, quickness and change of direction that most sports require.
Additionally, these training sessions will include information for the parents to help their kids continue to improve their athletic ability and skill training
outside of the camp and year around. This will include a detailed explanation of the drills that the kids learned during the week of the camp. I will include the knowledge that I have found over the years in these multiple sports to help these kids improve their overall quickness, speed, balance and coordination for years to come.
Remember, these sessions will be FUN and competitive for all age groups. The camps will involve a lot of competitive age-appropriate games thus helping young athletes increase their athletic agility and speed but having tons of fun doing it. I cannot stress enough; we will make the drills fun while they are training, and it will be enhancing their athleticism without them even knowing it. My focus in the camp will be to keep the kids engaged and moving. Young athletes love to play games. These games are a great way to engage young athletes and reinforce the skills that are required in multiple sports. Remember, other than track and field, athletes do not run in a straight direction. My focus will be to keep these young athletes moving with drills with quick change of direction games. We will be doing a lot of competitive cone work, ladders and other drills where the kids are having fun but mostly playing games that engage these fast twitch muscles to improve the athletes overall athleticism. The key is kids need to have fun when training. Plain and simple!
Camps will be kept small to allow for individual instruction. The first ones to sign up will be given a confirmation of the camp reservation before they are full. If the camp is full then you will be waitlisted and contacted if a spot becomes available. We hope to see all your kids this summer in the camps.
