Bat Standards and Player Equipment

Bat Standards

For all leagues, any legal bat can be used at all Highland Baseball Club fields.  This includes any bat certified by USA or USSSA, and any barrel diameter (2", 2 1/4", 2 1/2", 2 5/8", and 2 3/4").  Wood bats can also be used.

Player Equipment Needs

Highland Baseball Club will supply every player with a jersey shirt and a hat for Spring Leagues; for Fall Leagues, HBC will only supply a jersey shirt.

Each player needs to procure their own personal baseball equipment. 

Required items: 

Baseball Glove

Baseball Bat

Batting Helmet - Recommend including Jaw Guards or Face Mask

Heart Guards/Sternum Shirts

Sliding Shorts with Protective Cup - Note Catchers must wear a Protective Cup

Recommended items: 

Cleats - Molded baseball, football, or soccer style are acceptable. Younger players in T-Ball and Minor-Coach Pitch leagues may wear basic athletic shoes. No metal spikes.

Catching Equipment - Highland Baseball Club will provide teams a set of catcher's gear; however, we find that younger players use the team gear, and the older players procure their own personal gear.  If you procure your own gear, please make sure that the helmet is the hockey style mask that fully covers both ears and that it has a built in-extended throat guard or separately attached throat guard.
